How do you set the time on that side thing that flashes dat? Also, what
does UHR mean? thanks

This is one of those RTFM times. Look for the instructions for the
onboard computer.

Amazingly enough, it's the German word for 'hour'. Also passes for
'time' and 'clock', for some reason.

No. The german word for 'hour' is 'stunde'. 'Uhr' stands for 'clock' and
for 'o'clock'.

"Es ist acht Uhr" -> "It is eight o'clock"
"Es ist acht Uhr (und) zwanzig (Minuten) -> "It is eight-twenty (eight
o' clock and twenty minutes)"

Of course there are two or three other ways to express a time in German.
I am glad that I already knew German when I started to learn English in
school - and not the other way 'round;-)

If my memory serves me right, clock setting works this way:

1. Press "Uhr" button for a few secondes, until dot in the display
between hour and minute begins to flash.

2. set hours with the "hour" (Stunde) button, set minutes with the minute
button.

3. Press "Uhr" button again. Dot stops flashing, watch is set.

If the OBC shows the hours in 24 h mode instead of am/pm mode, it is
necessary to pull the unit out of the dashboard. The switch to change the
display mode is on the rear side.

This is valid only for the small obc, which shows time and outside
temperature. Don't know the big one.
