Interesting article... but -I'm- not a member of the "libel media" and
I think driving fast (more than 10 over) to keep up w/traffic isn't
only "wrong", it's "stupid" and a mere "rationalization" of one's
behavior one -knows- is wrong... and seeks an "excuse".

When one reaches a certain level of maturity they minimize
rationalizing and their search for excuses ends. Character traits such
as "responsibility", "accountability", "honesty" and "citizenship"
aren't very popular these days... but the mature person doesn't base or
excuse their own behavior on "everybody else does it"... instead, they
"set the example".

Whenever I read about a child involved in a crash I hope the parents
-don't- think of the example they set with their own driving habits.
Children learn their attitude toward driving from observing their
parents and that can be established in their minds long before they
take the wheel.

Call it sanctimonious if you like, I call it sensible.
