shudder
my jeep drives fine then an hr or so while driving my clutch shudders on
release while moving forward in 1st from a stop. the entire jeep shakes regardless of rpms, then later this condition disappears and can randomly come back again. the rest of the time it behaves normal. 89 yj 4.2 with 5 spd stock everything. any ideas? thanx scott |

That's rare on a hydraulically operate clutch, but if the disk's
dampener springs are weak: http://www.billhughes.com/clutch/ enough, plus a little oil, and bad engine mounts and you could get it to chattering. wow great picture
my clutch is only 2 yrs old, I'm going to have to check for oil I guess, engine mounts brand new. no idea on the condition of the tranny mount. guess I'll find that out when I put my lift in with tranny drop. That is the first symptom of a blown tranny mount.

My old 88YJ did that after I had the clutch replaced.
Especially in reverse. Apperently it was because the flywheel wasn't turned when they replaced the clutch. Although it was annoying, I put over 100,000 kms on it while it was like that.
