OMG <> that's what it says! - 08 of 1970 to 07 of 1972 Super Beetles will use
the same EXACT windshield as any 65 and up std sedan-- I see here that the dash
is different! >That's what my Mitchell manual says to look for<

So, does everyone agree with Jan on this one ? Look under the hood and if I
see coil springs , it is a super ?
Thanks,

Isn't the easiest way ti check and see hiw the spare tire lies? If its flat
than its a Super, if its not then its a standard. David

no reason to pop the hood, just look at the front apron, if its flat across
bottom and curves inward its a super (you won't even have to stop, just keep on
driving). Usually theres also a "grill" directly under the bumper. Other than
that astetically, 71-72 will look just like a standard (even the dashboard). 73
and up are even easier to spot because of the curved windshield and more modern
dashboard.

If you look closely at that picture, you can see a blur of sorts
seeming to exit the sway-bar. Another piece of the soul of the car,
departing this world. :-D

Look, I'm no hardcore purist or anything but this is unacceptable ....

........ if you're gonna quote Callahan, get it right:
