replacement key
All,
Just bought a used 156, 1999. However, the spare key does not work - the remote central locking button is broken. How much can I expect to pay for a replacement key in the UK ? |

I have opened up the key, and its just the little surface mounted push switch that is broken - anyone know where I could get one ?? I can resolder myself (electronic engineer by qualification) but there are million parts like it on the RS (radio shack) web site ! |

Not sure about the switch, but if you can find one and you can do it, do it!
A replacement is about £90.00. The same thing happened to both my 2002 keys. Alfa knows there's a problem as they have since changed the design of the key. I bought my 156 from a dealer used and keys were knackered. So I got him to
order me a new set. Apparently they have to be sent from Italy AND you have to take your car in to get them 'matched' or something like that... I had the dealer come to me, but they have to plug the laptop in to the car and match the new keys to the car. Simon C 156 2.4JTD V1 (2002) To reply: remove nospam. from the address |

Had the same problem when I got mine, but the switch was not broken (even though it appeared to be and didn't work). Just needed a good cleaning, footering with. |
