I expect they were original, but I bought the car second hand. All
the '91 SE's I've seen have had the gold.

Thanks for the recommendation. I checked with them and they claim
(rightly I think) that my wheel is not reparable and that they have
not had one of these wheels for over a year. It's possible I'll have
to replace all four...
