ISO: information on fairly narrow, driver's side pumpkin, front axle
A friend of a friend of ... is wanting to convert his early 60's Econoline
truck to 4WD. Apparently he needs a front axle with a driver's side pumpkin. Also, as this is a fairly small truck, it needs to be ~ 61" WMS to WMS (drum-to-drum). Apparently an early Wagoneer axle is the right width, but has the passenger side pumpkin, so must be cut and re-tubed, an expense and hassle that this guy wants to avoid. We've also heard that early 60's through early 70's Ford F-100 trucks came with a driver's side pumpkin, but no-one seems to know the width of these axles. So, to help the friend of a friend of ... out, I'm polling you folks, to see if y'all can identify an axle for us, which has a driver's side pumpkin and is the right width. Any takers? -- A -- http://www.slosh.com http://www.blazerchalet.com |
