Default E36 318i, Running rough

My 1997 318 has started to run slightly rough, its more notice able when the
engine is cold, it seems to stall quite easily and every now and again it
will miss , once the engine is warm it seems to run fine. Any body any ideas
where i should start to look?
The ignition leads have never been changed and the car has done 154000miles
though i thought if it were these the car would be rough all the time.

Thanks in advance

While there are several possibilities, such as the Idle Air Control valve etc.
couple of simple things come to mind. 1 How new are the spark plugs - less than
30K miles? 2. Do you use "brand name" gasoline, or do you get the cheapest
stuff at the local quick mart? Do a google search for Top Tier Gasoline to read
about the inadequate cleaning additives in the cheap stuff - you may have
partially clogged fuel injectors. Just fixed my brother up after he was having
virtually identical problems to yours - had him change gasoline brands, and now
he's running just fine.

Best luck

Frank

Thanks for the advice Frank, ill fill it up with the 'good stuff' and try
some injector cleaner. The plugs were change approx 2000miles ago at its
last inspection2 service.
