?s on fixing up cars

hey i'm pretty clueless about cars im not completely stupid but i know
what some parts are used for and what they do but i'm looking for a
place that has some type of chat or board or anything that can help u
in fixing up cars. not like the really old cars but just relativly new
so i can save some money. any ideas thanks

Public Library = Books.
When I am interested in learning something new I check out
20-30 books on the subject & take them home & read them.

What kinda "fixing up"?

"Fixing up" covers a rather broad and deep amount of data.

getting a car to run or making it run better does that help sorry?

If you know how to use Google you can find most anything. You might
start by letting us know what year, make, and model of vehicle you
have. And please turn quoting on so I don't have to reassemble your
replies for you.

Besides this board, get the real service manual specific to your model
and year.

When I bought my first vette in '91, I knew jack **** about cars.
Replaced a tire is about all I ever did. Learning on my own, I've
rebuilt the engine, replaced the trans, paint the exterior, replaced
everything in the cooling system, replaced rack and pinion, shocks,
brakes, A/C, heater core, interior.... ****, I should have just bought
a new car!!!

The fact of the matter is that it's not complicated, and any limitation
is usually because of the lack of tool, which you will have to spend
money on. Think of it, I can't think of one repair which doesn't
involve removing and reinstalling a series of bolts. The service
manual will tell you the order in which it needs to be accomplished.

It will also give you flow charts for diagnostic work. There's no
sense in replacing parts at random when you can find out with great
certainty what part is really broken.
