Odd...I get about 150-200k on a clutch...and around 100-120K on a a set
of brakes.
But...I learned how to *really* drive a manual shift in big trucks, that
did not have syncros.
You don't 'slip' the clutch when downshifting, you match the engine rpm
to the road speed/gear and then allow the engine to decelerate. A clutch
really isn't needed at all, until you need to stop.
