Default Not even pretending any more...

This article is typical of recent articles I have seen on traffic
'enforcement'. The pretext of 'safety' is not even mentioned any more.
Simply how much revenue is generated.

Automated cameras designed to catch speeders are expected to pay off a
lot more than first expected for the city of Cincinnati.

Leaders expected the cameras to bring in two million dollars of revenue
this year, but it looks like they will be much more profitable.

A study by Cincinnati police tested them at nine locations, targeting
drivers going ten miles an hour over the speed limit.

Now, estimates show the cameras will catch about 10,000 speeders each
month, totalling about $12 million in fines every year.
