Parents just bought a L300-3 wagon. Did not come with cargo net and I can
find no place that says it is standard.

Cheap Gas Cap on L300! (Oppie)

Don't know, maybe the additional cost of managing another key code keeps
them from making the locking cap a standard.
I suppose that one could rationalize the cost of getting an aftermarket
cap as that of one full tank being
siphoned out; at today's gas prices at least. Will look into getting one
too. I need to also get the cargo net for the back. It was missing when
I bought the car used.
We drove the Lw300 from New York City up to Vermont this weekend. Gas
consumption was a respectable 24 mpg especially considering that we
spent a good deal of the trip going through some pretty steep portions
of the Green Mountains. And, unlike my old underpowered minivan, passing
on an upgrade IS possible.
Gas at home has been about $2.30 and got a tank in Vermont for $1.92. I
wonder if the difference is in taxes on the gas or what?

Well I bought a new locking gas cap at my Saturn dealer this weekend. It
was $33, a bit high, but it is a Saturn part! It works a lot better then
my old gas cap. And now I like the fact that my gas tank is locked, and
can't be fooled with. Why this item is not standard on the L300 is
really strange, after all it is only a $33 part!? I just don't get it!
LOL!!

I think the Cargo Net is another optional item on the Saturn. We did not
have one in our L300, and I see that you can buy one at your Saturn
dealer.

I think Taxes have a lot to do with the high price of gas. If you would
have stoped in New Hampshire (No Taxes) I think you would have found the
gas even less then in Vermont! I do not think we will ever see Cheap Gas
again anytime soon. Maybe Saturn should think about making a Hybrid Car?
Say what ever happened to that Electric Saturn that was out a few years
ago? It seems that one went away right before the gas prices went crazy!

I will post a follow up on my gas Mileage with my new Locking Gas Cap as
soon as I go through a Tank of gas, on my L300!! I am really hoping that
it will improve a bit on my 21 mpg average.
