What oil do you buy? What makes it worth more than a cheaper brand?

That is not accurate. What you mean is that as long as the oil in use
is still doing its job of lubricating correctly, the length of time in
service is not an issue. I agree with you. I just question the idea
that 3000 miles is unnecessary.
