The wipers have to be parallel to each other to work as you have
guessed: http://www.billhughes.com/cjWipers.jpg Pry the spring clip back
and the blade arm will slide off the spline as Mike has already said,
and is pictured at: http://www.billhughes.com/tBirdWiperArm.jpg
