OEM rotors for 1998 M3

I'm planning to change the front rotors myself.

AZ BMW dealers charge $420 for the front pair (Inc tax and BMWCCA
discount).

bavauto charges $200 for a pair.

My question; are third-party rotors...

E46 changes

I have an E36 convertible so I can't really help you with changes to an
E46, but I will say this...

You have a convertible. Convertibles rattle. It's a universal truth.

Getting new brakes on a 323i

The prices you are quoting do not seem unusual to me for a BMW dealer.
High when compared to other makes, yes. Unusual for BMW, no.

'98 M3 rotors - can/should they be re-machined?

No. I can't feel anything unusual in the pedal. All the shake is in the
steering wheel.

'98 M3 rotors - can/should they be re-machined?

So I looked at the brakes this weekend.

All the rotors and pads are well above the minimum thickness, and only
the front rotors showed even a hint of warpage; 0.16mm was the maximum
axial deflection...

No, $1067 + tax for PARTS ONLY. No labor. So I'm guessing at least 2
hours to do the job, at a rate of at least $125 an hour puts another
$250 minimum on top of that.
