You, sir, are spot on

Others may also be intrigued to know that without fuse #9 (radio) in
place you cannot drive an automatic car. I cannot imagine why this is
but it seems the brake relay that...

... somewhat of my own making :(

I was poking around (actually quite carefully) with a voltmeter to find
a 12v supply near the radio to get me power to my iPaq and I somehow
managed to blow the #8...
