2001 jeep - emergency brake

Been there done that. We used to keep a reallly old Ford pickup up at
the lake and someone who shall remain nameless left the E-brake on for a
couple of weeks during winter after a storm. Had to...

2004 WJ 4.0 trans/ATF level questions

Thanks for looking it up and posting the chart, it will be really useful
since mine is so cold-blooded and it's not going to be 80-90 degrees
here anytime soon. My dipstick is different, having a...

2004 WJ 4.0 trans/ATF level questions

On my recently purchased WJ (4.0/42re/factory trailer tow) I noticed
that the owners manual says check the ATF level in Park, while the
dipstick says Neutral. In Park it appears to be 1-1.5 pints...

Which coolant?

AFAIK, Peak still makes an American Green, but you won't find it at
Walmart, KMart, or even Autozone. The discount stores seem to carry only
the Universal stuff these days. I have seen it at a...

California sues Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda and Nissan for emissions

If they're so concerned about polution and energy use, shouldn't the
express and HOV lanes be reserved for Humvee's, Super Pickups, Ferrari's
and other vehicles that get really poor gas mileage in...

so good. Mine has the 4.0, Selectrac, D30/D35c with 3.73 gears, and
factory trailer tow. Besides what's already been...

Candid Thoughts on GC Value

In addition to the build sheet which is on DC's computer, if buying from
a Jeep dealer a friendly service advisor can pull up the warranty claim
history on his computer. This won't show routine...

Candid Thoughts on GC Value

I've been looking at WJ's as well and another somewhat common problem
area I encountered is pulling to the right. An '04 I test drove would
lane-change in a millisecond at 70 mph if I let go of the...

The ZJ's automatic temp control system has it's own microprocessor as
part of the control head assembly. The blower speeds are variable and
controlled by this processor. A relay is used for high...

'04 ZJ opinions/experience

Thanks, that would explain why a search for '04 ZJ problems' turned up
very little. We use our '97 ZJ for light duty towing, both boats and
snowmobiles and rarely go farther offroad than an...
