Help with replacing the Low GAS bulb in the instrument panel

'98 Accord, the low gas light quit working a while back, so
I ordered another bulb (assuming that was the problem).

I've got the bulb, but before I take out the instrument
panel, is there anything important that I should know?

Thanks guys, I always appreciate all of your help.

I don't have one on my Civic, but if I remember correctly, on my other
vehicles (past and present)that is a light that you cannot check like all
the other bulbs by turning the ignition on.

Elmo has a point, but you might not be taking the fuel tank low enough
unless you have already run out of gas? Most experts say to keep your tank
at least 1/3 full to keep the fuel pump cool. Normally when my tank gets
near empty and I go on a freeway on or off ramp, the light will go on as
the fuel sloshes to the side of the tank. good luck.

Remove a couple screws up top. Pop/pull the trim ring/bezel STRAIGHT
OUT toward you...if not you'll break the tabs. bezel will fight you.
if you break it, epoxy it back. Tilt the cluster forward and remove
the 3 harness clips and then emove whole cluster. Bulb replacement is
easy.

However if your guage reads all squirrelly from 1/2 full to 100% full
it's probably the fuel sending unit failure typical with this car. i
have this failure on my 98 Accord and haven't seen my low gas light in
6-9 months and it came on for one cycle the other day...haven't seen it
since.
