Clutch on 91 Jetta!
I am still trying to fix this. New clutch, complete, best quality parts,
etc. Clutch works great for a week, then starts to not disengage completely. Replaced release plate, release bearing, pushrod and self adjusting clutch cable. Same problem, I don't want to have to pull this transmission a 3rd time. Help! -- Rex Merriweather www.stunttrumpet.com |
I'm a great one to give you an answer, since I just posted a question about
a clutch, but what the heck... If you have replaced everything internal, have you checked to make sure you are getting full travel on the release fork, or arm? Have somebody in the car working the clutch pedal up and down, and watch and measure the travel on the release arm to make sure you are getting enough travel. Since the clutch is not disengaging completely, it might be you are losing the cable movement somewhere, either at the pedal end, or under the hood. Did you try the fit of the new disc on the trans, input shaft when you had it apart, to be sure it fit freely on the shaft? Hope some of that helps. Good luck. |
