Synthetic And Regular Oil Together Question ?

Hello,

If your car had an oil change at the Dealership where they put in "Synthetic
Oil," what would
happen if you add a needed qt. later, e.g. on the road where synthetic might
not be available ?

Are the two types of oil miscible ?

Would any engine harm (likely) happen ?

Or,... ?

Thanks,
B.

have no fear, dear, the oil added, regardless, should meet your engine's
requirements.

Any oil is better than no oil. It is not generally a good idea to mix
different brands of oil because there may be undesirable chemical reactions
from the different additives, but no immediate harm would be done. If you
run low on oil and can't get what's in it, then add whatever you can get.
Soon as possible afterwards, you should change the oil and filter though.

Synthetic And Regular Oil Together Question ?

Synthetic oil and conventional can be mixed.
That's what you're getting with semi synthetic blends.

Well, synthetic is available pretty much everywhere, but its completely
compatible with conventional oils anyway. Nothing would happen if you
added a quart of conventional oil.
