2.2 GM rebuilding by
Bob Urz
I am debating what to do with my 96 S10 2.2.
Truck is still running fine. but the oil pressure drops to
near zero after it warms up at idle. and when its cold, the
piston slap clatters like a diesel. (yes, i changed the oil pressure sensor)
From what i researched, the cam bearings are a common...

strange noise from rear of fwd car by
[email protected]
after a bumping a curb (sliding sideways), a fwd drive car makes a low-
pitch wallowing sound at the rear. the tires were replaced and an
alignment was performed. this resolved other issues, but the sound
persists. the dealer did a precise alignment on top of the local
shop's alignment. turning...

SBC manual/auto cranks? by
ray
My 1990 1/2 ton made a new noise today, sounded like valvetrain
problems... then it went away. But that's somewhat irrelevant for right
now - but it got me thinking if I had to replace the motor in it - it's
a stickshift. If I was to borrow the smallblock from my race car (GM
crate engine)...

Shock Absorber Stem Nut - Jeep Cherokee by
[email protected]
There is an odd nut that came off one of the front shocks on my 1990
Jeep Cherokee. It comes out of the top of the shocks and through the
top of the front wheel well. The manual calls it a "shock absorber
stem nut". I need a replacement for it and the bushing it hold in
place. I can't seem to find...

Thermal Fan Switch Location on Metro by
[email protected]
Can someone tell me where the thermal fan switch is located on the 3-
cylinder 1 liter used in the 94 Geo Metro or Suzuki Swift?
I was trying to tell someone but I've never worked on one. I'd
suspect it to be on one end of the intake?
Thanks.

How did you do it? Can it be done on a rear wheel drive with
the block in the truck? WHich cam tool works for the bearings?

MPG vs gallons of fuel in tank. by
Bailey B
To get the best mileage is it better to:
1. Fill tank when it reaches half full mark. (Less fumes)
or
2. Fill the tank only half full for less weight? But more fumes.
I guess its a weight of extra gasoline vs loss of fumes issue.

Changing a V8 to a V4 by
Chief McGee
I am thinking of disconnecting 4 pistons in my 350 Chevy. Will this improve
gas mileage? I only use this vehicle for short trips around town so losing
1/2 the horsepower will not bother me. Any thoughts??

O2 sensor, I did something stupid.. by
Adysthemic[_2_]
Hi Folks,
I was installing new Oxygen sensors earlier today. I got interrupted and
installed
them with the protective plastic caps still on,duh. I didn't even realize my
mistake
until I pulled out to test drive. I got a block from my house and the engine
stumbled.
I thought it was just because...

Serious problem? - chrysler 2001 van by
[email protected][_2_]
I finally got my mitts on my van to see what is up with the erratic
shifting/transmission issue the girlfriend was talking about. It is
rather hard to describe, but here is an attempt.
All the indicator lights (PRN3DL) come on when it is started.
Sometimes when I shift gears, it will move to...
