About jumping car - When attaching NEGATIVE to the target car - what is the difference btwn attaching to battery negative pole and attaching to the metal part of the car ? Why "attaching to the metal part of the car" is the "default instruction" than otherwise ? Thanks

Mercury Marquis fuel problem??? by [email protected]
Hello, I have a 1983 Grand Marquis. Yesterday, it ran out of gas. After getting gas in it, we still have had problems starting it. I have changed the fuel filter inside of the carb today. I put some gas inside of the butterfly on the carb and it almost starts. It will turn over fine, but just won't...

pressure drop across air filter by Matt
I would like to be able to measure the pressure drop caused by an air filter. Then I could compare different makes and models of filters, and compare a new filter to a used one. My air filter has a peculiar configuration that lets me put the open end of a clear plastic tube on the inside of the...

Check Engine light: A brilliant idea? by Hugo Schmeisser
Yesterday I rode with a young lady in her '99 Civic. During the ride I noticed her Check Engine light was on and asked her about it. She replied that it had been on for about a week. She wasn't in a hurry to get it looked at because the last time she did, it cost her many hundreds of dollars to get...

Hi there all, A few years ago, I went to a car show where there was an owner who made a 1919 kit car. What really fascinated me was how the fuel was fed into the engine. The owner had mentioned that it was required that the fuel tank be positioned near and above the engine becuase there was no...

Intelligent choice of oil filter? by delvon daily
It's a camry where I went to walmart and they had Fram, Mobile 1, K&E, Super Tech, Bosch, and others. I know enough to realize price is never an indicator of quality but what is? What spec can we look for on the package that will help us determine which oil filter is better than another when both...

basic Hall-effect distributor wiring by Nathan M. Gant
