An AD on TCM?!?!?! by Hachiroku $B%O%A%m%/(B[_2_]
Hey cuhulin, you watch TCM tonight? There was a AD on! A Toyota ad. A 30 second Yaris ad. No narrative, just music and pictures of the car, followed by "Toyota Yaris". Hope they don't take the same path as AMC. That would suck.

Hi, I'm posting for a friend without a computer. He's got a jeep and the gauges and radio suddenly stopped working. He still has headlights, tailights, and the dome light, but when driving he can't tell his speed, fuel, or anything else. We checked and replaced the regular fuses and the big ones...

Gasohol Mileage versus Gas Mileage by Ashton Crusher[_3_]
Gasohol Mileage versus Gas Mileage... Been doing some driving for vacation in a 2000 Chevy Malibu. I've been averaging 28 mpg for mostly freeway. Found a gas station that had alcohol free 91 octane so I filled up (had about 1/3 of a tank at the time) with it. On the next leg I got 32 mpg. ...

Long, gloating, and by god I did it!!! by Don Bruder
Changing a tire... Not "pull the flat off and put the spare on", I mean "take the old tire off the rim and put a new one on." The guys at the shop with their umpty-hundred (or more) dollar machines make it look *SO* easy... In something like 90 seconds, they've got the old one off the rim, the new...

noise/vibration in front end of '93 Ford F-150 please help! by Nate Nagel[_2_]
I'm running out of ideas here... I have a '93 F-150, extended cab, 2WD, 300/E4OD that I bought used with about 120K miles on it. It currently has about 140K. When I bought it I knew that it had a few issues that needed to be addressed, most notably tires out of balance and bad shocks, but...

Stupid strut cars by Tim Kett
Why do so many car manufacturers make cars that require struts these days ? Shocks are about 15 to 20 times cheaper to install. And who needs $1000.00 airbags, when seat belts work just fine ? Newfangled, easily crunchable JUNK !

How to remove/reinstall crankshaft timing gear by Ryan Underwood
Well, for those of you who have kindly responded to my previous questions, this is becoming a bit of a saga. We obtained a new timing tensioner and mounting bolt, and the motor is put back together, so I decided to install the timing belt before doing the valve lash. Got the belt...

I changed the Camry's ATF today (added Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF) by Built_Well
Today I did a drain and refill of my transmission pan's Toyota T-IV, replacing it with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. 3.7 quarts of red T-IV drained out and I replaced it with 4 quarts of red M1 Synthetic. The extra 1/4 of a quart or 0.30 quarts isn't too much extra, is it? Not enough to cause...

93 Grand Prix Turn Signal Flasher location by SandraD
I have a 93 Grand Prix that the turn signals do not work. The emergency flashers are fine and the blubs are all in working order. The fuse for the turn sugnals is good. Only thing I could think of now is the flasher itself. Before taking all the panels from underneath, any idea it's whereabouts...

Avoid Major Oil companies by Ralf
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" >> campaign that was going around last April or May! >> >> The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't >> continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. >> >> It was more of an inconvenience to us...

all about oil by [email protected]
there aren't many features that oil has that haven't been discussed - by the sidewalk superintendents, of which 99% of it is totally from a subjective standpoint. one thing, all this verbiage about "cold starts" / mettle against mettle, where did this stem from? I'm satisfied with oil filters...

low break pedal, non-working parking break - self-adjusters not working? by [email protected]
Hi there, This is about a Mazda 626 '91. What I realized recently is that the break pedal has to be pressed quite low to work. In addition, the parking break pretty much does not break at all anymore. All break pads were replaced about 20K ago, so they should not be that worn out. I recall now...
