OEM parts books available for many makes and models. They are the same information the dealer parts counter uses to look up parts for your vehicle. Depending on the model and year, they are on microfiche or CD-ROM. I ship worldwide (I charge actual shipping cost as computed by the US Postal...

Intermittant Power Loss by BigJohnnyO
Just purchased a 2000 Miata with 80K miles. All 60K maintenance performed at Mazda dealer for big $'s by previous owner. Runs great 99% of time. Ah, the other 1%, it feels like running on half power. My cheap code reader says multiple cylinder misfires when problem occurs. Shows up when I start...

Multiple Random Misfires by Bill Gunshannon
I saw over on google that there was a discussion about this several years ago. I seem to be getting the same error, but with different symptoms. Mine is not at high rev but every once in a while it will do it when I first start the car. Often after only a short time since shutting it down. ...

Cost of a 1.6L long block by BillBetts
Just got a quote from a San Jose, CA dealer for $3,900 for the factory rebuilt long block. $1,500 for labor. Four years ago, I did the same thing. Factory long block replacement for $2,700 parts and labor. Seems like I'm getting ripped off. Anybody done this recently? What did it cost?

Emissions Warranty by Bill[_27_]
I have a 2000 Miata with 58k miles. The catalytic converter was recently replaces under the factory warranty. The engine light has come on again. The error code appears to be an O2 sensor. Would this also be covered by the factory warranty on a car this old and with this milage? Beachbum

New to the MX-5 Forum by Bill[_36_]
Hi: I'm Bill and new to this forum. I hope to peruse the current and past comments in search of joy and enlightenment. My site is http://billsmiatamx5.wordpress.com/ and gives a better picture of my love affair with my 1991 MX-5 (red) A-Pkg than I can give here. I'm hoping to evolve my baby into my...

Miata and Lojack by Bill[_5_]
Do you have a Lojack system installed, and does it drain your battery in a short period (days in winter, week or so in summer?) Is there a quick way to disonnect the Lojack? (I'd have to have a mechanic do it, I can't get on my knees, and left hand is headed south rapidly.) TYIA

Any information from the UK? by Bioboffin
Hello - this is my first post here. I have put 'Mazda' into my newsgroup search, and this is the only hit (NTL world is hopeless). Sorry if this is Off Topic. I have today ordered a Mazda 3 (Katomo) in the UK. I test drove a Mazda 2 1.4 capella, and a Honda Jazz. My opinion was that the Honda...

Driving lights on with parking lights by Bipestuff
I own a '04 MSM that has the integrated driving lights (fog lights) which only come on when the headlights are on. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to change the wiring so the driving lights can come on with the parking lights? I'm assuming this wiring is the same for all Miata's with...

Miata Front License Plate holder by Bitu
I personally believeall this crap is a matter of collecting more revenue. Police officer operated speed traps are being replaced by speed light cameras and red light cameras at an alarming rate. If is as advertised this product called PHOTO BLOCKER SPRAY is our salvation. They claim that it was...

coil pack questions by [email protected]
I noticed my tach needle jumping around about 500 rpm on the ride to work this morning. It did it for maybe 30 seconds, then settled down and I didnt notice it again. I seem to have read that this is an indication of a bad connection at the coil pack. If so, how do I correct the situation. I...

Droopy eyeball vents by [email protected]
I have just installed a new stereo in my 94 Miata to replace the factory unit that finally gave out. I have the center eyeball vents still out and was wondering if there is anyway to correct the looseness and droopiness of the vents. I have tried pushing them back in the socket to make them stay...
