Front end squeek by
Hairy
A friend has an Explorer that has a very loud squeek in the front end. I
don't know the year, but believe it's a '99 or so. It's a suspension squeek
and is reproduceable by bouncing the front up and down.
Is there a component that is predisposed to squeeking on these vehicles?

I let it park all day, and it rained all day. In the

Coolant drain/fill 2002 by
HerkyJerky
This is a 4x4 with the rear HVAC. Time to do the above. Whats the
best way to drain? Service manual mentions only the radiator drain.
About how much coolant will come out this way? On the refill, any air
bleed issues? Also, water here is harder than heck. Is the softened
water (about 2...

Brake lights out by
TetsuoH
I have a '94 Explorer. The other day I noticed my brake lights were
completely out. I checked the fuse, the wires for a short and the brake
switch shows continuity when the pedal is pressed. I noticed another thread
of the same nature, but it continues on without mentioning what the fix was
and...

Wiring diagram needed or question answered please! by
Buddy0506
After reading several "blend door" problems with AC I'm gonna skip that
question and jump right to my problem. I was checkin fuses in both the
side panel and power distribution box of my 99 Explorer and now all of a
sudden my power windows and power sunroof are stuck! Luckily my windows
were...

'99 Explorer Sport Rear Wiper keeps failing by
The Fog
Every so often (6-8 months) the rear wiper on my 99 Explorer stops
working. I can hear the relay going in the back and I can also what
sounds like the motor engaging.
While it was under warranty I had no problem asking the dealership to
fix it. Now that it's not, I'm going to bother to figure out...

Explorer Belt Noise by
[email protected]
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer. When the engine is idling, the engine area
eventually starts to produce a load droning sound, perhaps from a belt.
It has seemed to have started up since the weather started getting
warmer (central florida). I have had this in the past. I mentioned it
to the dealer a...

'97 Coolant recovery question by
[email protected]
When the engine is hot, excess coolant transfers to the coolant
recovery tank.
When the engine cools (overnight), the coolant does not return to the
radiator.
When I remove the radiator cap, I can tell I'm breaking a vacuum.
Is this a radiator cap problem? - Mike

Heater stuck on by
MoonDogii
I have a 97 explorer which is in great shape, except all of a sudden the
heat is always on. Even if I put it on air, I still get heat. Max-air only
tempers the hot air some. Rumor has it, this may be expensive to fix.
Is there an easy and cheap way to repair this?
Thanks in advance

I have a '94 Explorer and the A/C stopped working. I checked the pressure on
the low side service port and there was nothing. I used a recharge kit with
uv dye to spot a leak and could not find anything. I used the goggles that
make the uv stand out and even used a higher wattage blacklight to...

1994 Explorer: Rear brake-line pin-hole leak repair? by
[email protected]
I recently (today) bought a 1994 Eddie Bauer with 152,000 miles on it.
The vehicle looks good, and runs well. Unfortunately, after about 40
miles of driving it around town while slowing for a stop-sign, the
brake-pedal suddenly hit the floor. The backup system worked as
expected though, and I...
