Bad Service Experience Today by
Dick[_1_]
A week ago, I made an 8:00 A.M. appointment at our local Honda dealer
to bring our '03 Accord in for the 45,000 mile service. When I got
there this morning, they said it would be two to two and one-half
hours I didn't want the transmission done (wasn't due) so it was
LOF, some inspections,...

New tires on 98 Accord LX - Do I need an alignment? by
Tom Jackson
I bought 4 new BF Goodrich tires for my 98 Accord LX 5-speed with
75,000 miles. The cars is very quiet now and very smooth. The guys at
Costco told me to get an alignment and they implied it would protect my
tire warranty. They said get an alignment every year. I think I have
had one alignment...

Help Me Choose a New Car- Honda,Toyota, or VW? by
Jazmyne
I am new to this community but it seems like I might be able to get some
decent feedback. I'm in the market for a new car. What I'm thinking about
for now is a 2004-05 Honda Civic Hybrid, Toyota Matrix, or VW Jetta. I do
about 50/50 city and highway driving. But the highway driving I do is
mostly...

spark plug wires: old but under 10kOhms by
chibitul
Hi,
I just check the spark plug wires on my newly purchased 1997 Civic:
they are from 1997, probably the OEM wires, and they all measured under
10kOhms. I will also look tonight with the engine running to see if I
notice any "sparks" around the wires, but I was wondering if I should
replace those...

air bags by
Marcos
Some mother-less a$$wipe stole both air bags from my 99 Accord last
week. Since the low-life retard probably could not pick the lock and was
not bold enough to break the glass, he punched a hole in the door's
sheetmetal, next to the lock. The Club was still on the steering wheel
when I saw the car...

type of gasoline for civic 05 by
Douglas Dou
Hi group,
I have a civic 05. My dealer told me that I could just use 87 gasoline
as fuel. I followed his advice and have been using it for four months.
However, this morning when I checked the user manual, I found that I am
supposed to use 91. It amazed me since in my mind 91 is for luxury...

No early first oil change by
Eye In The Sky
I've got a new Accord and my custom when buying a new car has always been
to change the oil at about 1000 miles. No doubt that's a hold over from the
bad old days when you had to get the metal chips and debris deposited during
the sloppy engine manufacturing process out of there. Unnecessary...

2007 Accord - Cruise Control by
no name
The manufacturer's recommended break-in period for a Honda Accord, six
cylinder, with automatic is 600 miles. I was advised by someone at the
dealership that cruise control should not be used until the vehicle
has been driven for 1500 miles. The owner's manual makes no mention of
a separate...

Parasitic Drain - Bulb Trick by
sharx333
Just wanted to ask:
Is the "light bulb" test (putting a 12v bulb in series with the battery
circuit) an accurate test for a parasitic drain? My ammeter only goes
up to 0.25A, and I don't want to risk overloading the meter.
How bright should the bulb light up, if it should at all, for a
"normal"...

Q. Acura vs. Toyota - Parts & Reliabity? by
Rory Calhoun
I need to make a decision quick between a 93 Acura Integra RS and a 96
Toyota Tercel (both about 188,000km on the odometer). I know they are
very different cars, and both have their appeal to me. I prefer the
comfort, performance and feeling of security (from accidents) you get
driving the Integra,...

93 civic overheating by
[email protected]
Please help. I Have a 93 civic hatchback that is overheating. I had a
similar problem last year and discovered that my water pump was cracked
(so I had it replaced). It's been fine for the past year, but recently
has started overheating.
My typical route to school has me in "stop and go" traffic...

Honda 97 civic timing belt replacement dilemma by
[email protected]
Hey all,
I have a 97 Hionda civic currently @112000 mileage. However, i have
not yet replaced the timing belt for it. My dealer mentions a cost of

Redmond, WA BTW) who is quoting $185 including parts and labor. I am

94 Accord AT going bad? by
R. P.
I wonder if any of you, '94 Accord owners have had the Automatic
Transmission going bad and what the symptoms were. I suspect mine is
showing the symptoms but I'm not sure. I hear noticeable whining coming
from under the hood and some additional grounding sound during initial
acceleration,...

Fog Lights by
lynsam
Are fog lights really a necessity? I feel that, some time ago, a
manufacturer added fog lamps to its line as a cost-effective marketing ploy.
Of course, all others followed suit.
I have often seen drivers operating fog lights when totally unwarranted
(forgot they were on?).
