I have a '76 Pacer with a 242. My exhaust manifold is cracked and warped. My mechaninc is having a tough time finding a new manifold. One option may be replacing it with a header. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? A make and manufacturer?

QUESTION: What is this discoloration on the rubber trim?? by BD[_1_]
Hi all. I have a 2002 Subaru WRX Wagon. I recently noticed some discoloration along the rubber trim that surrounds my windshield on the outside. It's kind of whitish and blotchy - like sal****er might stain something. But it's not coming out easily.

How much can my truck tow? by ray
1990 Chevrolet K1500 350/5 speed regular cab longbox. The door sticker only lists GVWR (5600) and GAWR (3400 each front and rear) with no GCVWR. The manual and the shop manual both tell me "ask a dealer." It's my father-in-law's old farm truck... it's done a lot of towing, but I have no idea...

category-name of truck with passage to cab? by [email protected]
In the USA, these things are sometimes called "step trucks". From the drivers seat, you can directly pass through to the boxpart of the truck in the rear-without going out of the vehicle. The famous UPS trucks are like this. in asia, I've seen Mistushi-Motors Canter GUTS models that were...

91 Nissan Maxima radiator fans run continuously. by zcxcxcxz zxcxzcxzcx
My grandfather's 91 Nissan Maxima radiator fans will run continuously. I'd unplug the fan switch near the thermostat and the fans still run. There are three relays and all seem to be fine because when I unplug them one by one they will make a click sound and the fans will stop. The diagram that I...

need opinion on economical van (Astro maybe?) by JustMe
I'm getting rid of my old G10. I want to drive cross country, and 12mpg's isn't going to cut it. I figure I should get 20 or better out of an Astro (I am partial to Chevys). Was looking to get some feedback. I'm in NJ. If anyone in NJ or a neighboring state has a Astro for sale, I could be...

Let the sodomization begin.... $400 for a g-d battery??? by Proctologically Violated©®
Awl-- I was preparing myself, with liberal applications of Preparation H, for duplicating my Honda Fit keys. Then I found out what the goddamm battery costs, which is little bigger than a Harley Davidson battery--which makes sense, cuz Harley Davidson engines are as big or bigger than the Fit...

Duplicating keys w/ chips by Proctologically Violated©®
Awl-- It is a fairly gigantic and expensive pita to get duplicate keys for a Honda Fit--and proly for most new cars. You gotta bring in ALL the keys, otherwise when they complete the process not all will work!!! Plus, they charge so much the salesguy wouldn't give me an exact figure! He left...

Emissions controls: Valid logic? by Proctologically Violated©®
Awl-- Been wondering about this for a long time: If emissions control cuts emissions by, say, 10%, but also cuts mpg's by 10%, isn't the whole thing a wash? Now the Qs are, by how much does emissions control really cut emissions? And what particular emissions? Then, by how much does emissions...

Rattling Noise (clutch?) by [email protected]
I have a 2001 Honda Civic with 66k miles on it. I've recently noticed a rattling sound that I can hear when the car is idling. Upon depressing the clutch, the noise goes away. I've also noticed that the car makes a bit of a similar noise as I'm accelerating and decelerating. My budget is...
