Explorer V8 EGR valve replacement by Dave Horoschak
Does anyone know where I can find the instructions for replacing the EGR valve in a 96 Explorer V8? None of the typical manuals (Chiltons, Haynes) cover the V8 in enough detail for this to be included. Thanks. - Dave

'98 Explorer V8 Spark Plug Replacement? by Steven Hilgendorf
This is my first Explorer and I'm looking for suggestions, and/or advice, on the best/easiest way to change the spark plugs on my '98 Explorer V8? Would removing the fender liners/skirts make the job easier? TIA, Steven

Advice to Explorer Drivers by C. E. White[_2_]
I had an Explorer almost run me off the road this morning. This prompted me to give Explorer drivers a little friendly advice - When using your turn signal as a virtual bumper, please be sure that your intended victim can actually see your turn signal. Here is what happened - I was driving...

spark plug question by Ashton Crusher[_3_]
I would appreciate any thoughts on what, if anything, these plugs are saying... lean, rich, too hot, too cold, whatever. http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/1732/imag01561.jpg they are from a 92 explorer with a low rpm miss. It scopes out fine yet misses. Replacing these plugs seems to "fix"...

’94 ford explorer –the engine dies while driving by redcat
Even though the Fuel pump relay has been replaced, sometimes the car won’t start. So we do the “take the relay out to cool off” stuff, and then it will start. The bigger problem is that at times the engine will die while I’m driving. The battery light comes on and the rpm goes to zero as...

2000 explorer XLT / 5R55E transmission problems by trade_mark
In light traffic on the way home the other day, I started to pass a couple of cars. As I accelerated and the transmission down shifted, it almost immediately started slipping. Backing off the gas it started to catch and then seemed okay. It wasn't. As traffic worsened it immediately began to slip...

2000 Expedition Rear Differential by Dawnonya
Thanks for the discussion here. You saved me $80. The guys at the oil change place tried to pull this one on me this morning. Showed me some plug covered with gunk and small metal shavings. It's the second time they've tried to get me to have the service performed. Luckily, I pulled out my owner's...
