question about power steering conversion by pws[_1_]
I know a Miata owner who has a power steering pump going out on their 1996 model. I was asked to replace the pump, but was also asked about simply removing it. Is this an option without going to a manual rack, and if so, do I simply plug the hydraulic line fittings to the power steering rack...

Retractable headlight won't open by [email protected]
Right retractable headlight won't open. Live in the Northeast and the car has been out playing in heavy rain in recent days. What is my progression order for troubleshooting? These come to mind: 1) Look for obstructions preventing headlight from opening (sticks, leaves) 2) Disconnect, then...

Megasquirt ECU by Don[_17_]
Has anyone had experience with a Megasquirt ECU and the associated tuning software, etc? I am considering installing one of these in my 1996 Miata and would like some first-hand tales about the effectiveness and any power gains experienced. If the unit simply emulates a stock ECU then I don't see...

BMW Mechanics by [email protected]
I am looking for a trusted bmw mechanic to look at my 2000 328i BMW. The car currently has 87,000 miles. The service engine light came on and I know some of the hoses and belts need to be replaced along with a tune-up. Any assistance in finding a doctor to service this car would be greatly...

2009 changes by [email protected]
Has anyone else seen the mods on the 2009? http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?threadid=306479 What do you think about the new nose? The styling seems more aggressive imo.

How many Miatas have you owned? by Chris D'Agnolo
Hey, last time I thought this group was getting WAY too quiet, I started a thread on where the participants were / are. I was shocked how many people were still hanging around and just waiting to comment or read others comments. It led to a long and enjoyable (at least for me) thread. This is...

OBD-II Codes on a Mazda 626 by [email protected]
I know this is a Miata group, but I can't find a good group to post this question and it's probably generic to any Mazda anyway, so forgive me in advance. Check Engine Light came on and I got three codes P0133 - O2 Sensor P1131 - O2 Sensor says running too lean P1132 - O2 Sensor says running too...

I have used it for a longer (4 1/2 hr.) or our LONG trip to the Grand Canyon the month after buying our 2000 Miata in June 2000. But I...

Need Miata advice by [email protected]
I'm moving to a new place where I will have a 55-mile commute, each way, from the Park & Ride or the Light Rail terminal. It's mostly 4- lane US or Texas state highway. Not interstate slab, but still pretty straight, and no hills to speak of. I want to get a 1999 or 2000 Miata for this commute...

Can't latch top. by Frank Berger
Just before leaving for the airport, I decided to put up the Miata's top. I couldn't get the latches to latch. It was as if they didn't extend far enough. I tried adjusting them (turning the adjusting nut to extend the latches as far as possible, but that didn't work. It was as though something...
