2000 EXP SMOKE FROM STEERING WHEEL by
Malona Jackson
I just read a thread from all the way back in 2003 that speaks on the same
exact problem I am having now!!! I have been having the issue for a minute
now; but seeing as though I am not in the position (financially) to take my
truck to the dealership everytime something goes wrong with it, I guess...

Windshield Washer Sqirter by
Frank Mancuso
I have a 2003 Explorer Sport, and the other day, my front washer fluid
sprayer quit spraying. Has anyone had this happen and is their a simple
solution? Both the left & right don't spray, so I'm thinking there may
be a clog at the bottom of the fluid tank, but perhaps a fuse for the
motor that...

The Overdrive light is flashing in my 95 Explorer.Hard shifting, even
after rebuilding the transmission twice! I could really use some ideas
to fix this problem.

Restore color to Exterior black trim? by
Richard Ray
Yes, I have heard of it. Yes, it does work for about the same length of
time as Armor All. Moral of story is do not put any wax or silicone
based material on outdoor plastic trim.

What kind of maintenance for very low mileage? by
[email protected]
I have a Ford Explorer that I mostly use for hauling boxes over short
distances -- most things are within walking distance around here, so I
put a max of about 3,000 miles per year on the truck. (How many of you
would like to be filling up once a month right now?)
What kind of regular maintenance...

O2 Sensors on 2000 Explorer Sport by
Dan
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport with 100KM on it and just recently
the "Check Engine Light" came on. My mechanic pulled the codes and
said it was the O2 sensors. It's been a few days since that and my
"Check Engine Light" has gone off. Should I still replace the O2
sensors or should I just wait...

Oil gauge fluctuation... by
Randy Pavatte
I have a 96 XLT with 4.0 and auto trans.
Mileage is approaching 162,000. Since about 2 weeks ago I noticed my oil
level gauge will "flash" momentarily to bottom red, then return to the
middle position.
This seems to occur when its cold, and if I take sharp turns.
Since it always returns to the...

A basic question... Hopefully I can get suggestions... by
CpuVampire
I recently bought a '99 Ford Explorer XLT (4dr 2wd model). Anyway, I
wanted to add a toggle switch to the dash or underneath) so that I can
control something (like a fake alarm led light, like those found at Radio
Shack etc...) or I wanted to wire a device (any device) that only came on
when my...

Used, newer Explorer purchase recommendations needed by
Bob
My 1996 Explorer XLT V8 AWD was stolen this past weekend and I am
looking for a "newer" used, suitable, similar, replacement. It had
150K miles on it, ran great and never gave me any problems since I
bought it used in 1998 with 59K miles on it. Since I liked this one so
much, I am thinking I...

93 Explorer 3 questions by
Jalopy Bob
Hello; I recently got a 93 Explorer with 84000 miles from the original
owner. It is the 4.0 V6.
How many miles are these usually good for? What kind of city and
highway gas mileage can I expect?
The A/C compressor clutch squeals. Can I have it rebuilt or just buy a
new one?
Thanks!

1994 Ford Explorer by
mdblucy
My son has a 1994 Ford Explorer that we thought the fuel pump went out on because it would not start and there was no gas getting to the engine, but now after replacing that we think it is the alarm system that won't allow it to start. We think it is factory installed. Any ideas how to disarm the...

1992 4x4 not working by
dr bob
The early cars have a list of things that might cause the problem you
describe. The shift motor on the transfer case can move slightly,
enough to confuse the controller module. The controller module itself
may have failed. You may have a blown fuse.
There is an extensive resource on the...
