Leafnode placeholder for group rec.aquaria.marine.reefs by Leafnode
This server is running leafnode, which is a dynamic NNTP proxy. This means that it does not retrieve newsgroups unless someone is actively reading them. If you do an operation on a group - such as reading an article, looking at the group table of contents or similar, then leafnode will go and...

I have just got mine from the flour mill shop in the Netherlands (it also says) natriumbicarbonaat - it is 2015 - so i guess the name natrium (for sodium) is still valid in many parts of the world El miércoles, 24 de junio de 1998, 9:00:00 (UTC+2), Annette Vondra & Antoine Reniers escribió: Hi...

Good way to peel an bubble-tip anemone off the rock by Pszemol
My tank is overgrown with bubble-tip anemones which I plan to peel off the rock and trade in for some corals or some stuff... The trick is - how do I peel it safely from the rock without hurting it? Anybody has a trick to this job?

Hydor Koralia by Yukon[_2_]
Anybody use one of these? I've got two and am getting a few more. Big improvement over normal style powerheads. The best thing is they stay in place.

ATTN: Pszemol by ~Roy~
Couple of quick questions , OK? AM interested in doing a tank lighting project that uses only Luxeons. I know they produce a fair quanity of heat etc, but there is some terminology I do not quite understand. What is a PUCK? What is a SLUG? What is a DRIVER?

Attention Wayne hater by Big Habeeb
dude, I dunno what your issue with wayne is...but as one of the guys who actually appreciates wayne's expertise, can you please just harass him by email or something so that the rest of us don't have to read it? Seriously...I'm asking nicely, with cream and sugar on top. Thanks,

Lemonpeel Angelfish by Yukon[_2_]
I was just checking my records and noticed my Lemonpeel angel is over 11 years old. Pretty good, I'd say. He's spent all his life in the same 55 gallon tank with no skimmer or filtration. Took off the Bak- Pak skimmer over 8 years ago and never looked back. Just live rock and lots of powerheads....

New Fish Tank by Bobbin' for Charlie
Hi guys!! How's it going? Say, I just bought a new fish tank for my kids as a present for Christmas. It was used, but I couldn't resist it. 400 gallons!!! I paid $1,000 for it and the oak stand. It is square in shape and about 6 feet long on all sides and 2.5' tall on a 3 feet tall stand. Viewing...

Hi all, Does anyone have some hints on home made fish foods or a link to same? I live 2 1/2 hours drive from the neares petshop that sells marine stuff and it's becoming a drag plus I only have 5 fish and don't get through a great deal of food but want it to remain fresher (even the...

Lawnmower BLENNY by RubenD
I was having a lot of green algae growing in my tank so I got a Lawnmower Blenny. Let me tell you, he is GREAT. Better than a janitorial company: He does glass (windows), lol My concern is, he is getting the tank spotless but what will he eat now? I noticed he doesn't eat when I feed the...

Calculating final nitrate level after water change by [email protected]
Hello, I realize this is probably a fairly simple equation, but I'm really struggling with it. I'm trying to create a formula (perhaps to eventually work into a classroom lesson) to predict the nitrate concentration in the aquarium AFTER a partial water change. This is complicated by the fact...

Territoryy: Fish Vs. Shrimp by stringerbell
I added 5 Peppermint shrimp to my tank this weekend in order to try to control an aptasia problem. I did not foresee this problem: The Shrimp are roughly the same size, shape and color as a Strawberry Pseudochromis who has inhabited the 65 gallon space for about 8 months. The Pseudy seems to...
