Joan keeley
Protection could be a reason once pond liners are used. Once a hole is, a pond liner is placed within the hole so it's stuffed with water. Rocks are then placed round the perimeter of the pond to hide up the sting of the pond liner, and additional rocks are congregated on a mound of dirt lined with...

Tadpoles not growing into frogs by
Pete Thomas
Hi all, I'm new to this group.
I recently moved and started a wildlife pond. I "borrowed" some
frogspawn, the tadpoles hatched but it looks like none of them are
growing legs. My previous wildlife pond just down the road in the same
locality (Southampton UK) had plenty of tadpoles turning into...

Barrel pond gone stagnant by
Colin Eberhardt
I recently purchased half an old barrel to create a pond. The barrel is
about 90cm in diameter. I originally stocked it with a few plants, some
oxygenating plants and added a small fountain.
However, within a few weeks the water started to smell. I also noticed
a number of small grubs in the water...

Building a pond by
[email protected]
Hi,
Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about instead of using liner
or fibreglass, using bricks (nice ones... :-) and concrete to build a
garden pond with (in the ground, not raised). Would it even be water
proof?
Cheers
Richard.

skimmer and pushes out to a waterfall w/biofalls. The pump is forever
clogging up and it is getting old having to get the pump out of the pond and
remove the hoses every other week to clear it. (My 'barometer' that its

feeding question by
Deswinds
Can someone tell me what to do? or how to go about encouraging my fish to
come to the surface to feed? Right now they wait for the "floating" pellets
to sink to the bottom before they'll eat.
I know, this is hardly a concern, generally, but my grandkids don't quite
understand why they won't come...
