Where to start? by
fladevil
I have a 95 2wd Explorer that won't start.
I haven't checked the battery yet, but the headlights, horn, radio, etc all
work. It almost seems like it's not getting fuel.
What I would like to find out is what's the best way to start instead of
replacing parts one by one? I hope it's not a fuel...

Of Mice And Explorers by
John B.
I have a '98 Explorer and after a shop visit, was told I have mice living in
it. (As I mainly walk to work, it sits for days at a time.) There were no
obvious signs of the critters except the mechanic smelling mice urine while
inside. Anyone ever have this problem with their Explorer? If so,...

Radio output suddenly distorted by
Bill Jeffrey
The radio with 6-disc CD changer in my '02 Explorer.
This unit has worked well since Day 1, until recently when the audio
developed a kind of frog-in-the-throat distortion. Since the problem
happened on all four channels simultaneously, I don't think I've blown a
speaker, nor have I popped...

Chime switch location by
Jay1028
I want to be able to listen to the radio and have the drivers door
open. Of course, the chiming is annoying. I don't see a old style
pin switch to depress to stop the chiming. Where is the switch?
I don't want to disable the chime because it comes in handy for the
parking/headlight mionder.

2003 EXPLORER REAR END NOISE by
JM[_2_]
My explorer has 80,000 and recently I have notice a low pitched noise from
the rear of the truck. It varies with speed and it's not very loud. It may
be a wheel bearing or something else. Anyone else had a similar problem? How
do you find if there has been a service notice or recall? Thanks for...

Replacing axle damper shock on 99 XLT by
Mikepier
I recently replaced all 4 shocks myself and I held off on replacing the
rear axle damper. I was just wondering if anyone else replaced theirs
and if you noticed a difference in ride? Is it mostly for off roading?

2005 Fog Lamp Replacement by
TJN
The passenger-side fog lamp on my 2005 Explorer took a rock and cracked.
Other than my friendly neighborhood Ford dealership, can anyone recommend
another source (on-line or otherwise) for a
genuine OEM or aftermarket replacement? I use them frequently and need
quality & reliability.
Thanks!

98 5L V8 XLT AWD Clicking when in D and on the gas only?? by

Hey all,
I've got one I can't figure out and would definately appreciate some
thoughts and feedback. I've got a 98 5L V8 XLT AWD. The problem is that
when I am in Drive and hit the gas I get a clicking noise, sounds like
a loose belt but I'm not 100% sure. The sound is worse when the engine
is...

Repair shop rate by
Anthony Giorgianni[_1_]
Hello All
Per my earlier post (Clutch issue 92), I've decided, as advised, to have the
clutch fluid replaced. A Ford dealer says they can do this and test the
system at the same time. The dealer has a $90/hour rate. That seems a bit
high (northern Westchester, NY) Just wondering what rates shop...

Clutch life prediction? by
Anthony Giorgianni[_1_]
For those of you who have or had a manual Explorer, what kind of like did
you get out of the clutch. Per my other recent posts here, I've just brought
my XLT tot he dealer for a clutch pedal problem. And the dealer is
suggesting that now - 85,000 miles - is a reasonable time to do the...
