Gotcha, you damn drunk driver by pws[_1_]
I was being tailgated last night, nothing unusual, but I was able to pull into the right lane to let them pass. The next thing I know, they are almost past me, then the turn signal comes on and they immediately pull right over into my lane. Only serious braking on my part and luck prevented an...

yes, it's a mileage thread by pws[_1_]
I was wondering what people are seeing as far as real-world MPG for the NC Miata (2006-2010), with a 5-speed. I am just curious about what is the best it is capable of on the highway with the top up as well as top down, and what it gets when driven with a heavy foot around town. Thanks, Pat

gas longevity? by pws[_1_]
I am about to work on a "Other Than Miata" vehicle that has been sitting for almost a year. Are there any big worries about the fuel and oil being in it that long? I have never dealt with storing vehicles and I really don't know how long a car can sit, but I don't want to run bad gas through...

never one to let you down by pws[_1_]
I have not verified whether or not a HUGE TAK! is present in this one. Lanny, Chris, XS11E? What do you think? Do you have your $10,000.00 ready yet? ;-) http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/1573962447.html Pat

Not a Miata but this is awesome by pws[_1_]
I am surprised that I have not seen this before. 43 years and over 500,000 miles on her Comet, that is impressive to someone like me who has sold or destroyed every car I have owned in less than 10 years/100,000 miles. It would be interesting to see if anyone who bought a brand-new 1989 Miata...

Dura-crap battery by pws[_1_]
As of today I am on my third Duralast battery for my Miata in less than a year. They keep leaking, not cool. I do have a brand-new one again, but my confidence level in it is zero. I guess it is about time to order another Westco. Pat

80 amp fuse question by pws[_1_]
On the big 80 amp fuse in the main fuse box on the driver side, (U.S. models), does that one just pop out with pressure or is there something else to it? This is on a 1993 model. My manual is playing hide-n-seek in some moving boxes. Thanks, Pat

80 amp fuse update by pws[_1_]
The new fuse is in, and all is well. No more blown fuses after they drove it last evening. Thanks, there is now another happy Miata owner in Austin. That was fast and cheap. pat

White stuff from the sky! OT by pws[_1_]
After 6 years and 9 days, we are receiving snowfall in the Austin area that is sticking to the ground. The weatherman got it right for once! The date is easy for me to remember because the last one was on Valentines Day of 2004, and I have a picture of me proudly standing behind my 2 foot...

FA: 1994 - 1997 Miata Lock Set by pws[_1_]
Matching ignition switch, door handles with locks, and trunk lock from a 1996 Miata with 75,000 miles of use. No heavy key rings ever used on on the ignition, at least after 10,000 miles when I bought it, not sure about before then. I think that the ignition switch is specific to 1994-1997...

Airbag question by pws[_1_]
This link on miata.net says that all 1990-1997 miatas have four crash sensors. I think that this may be in error. http://www.miata.net/faq/miata_airbag_faq.html I found the sensors and the blue box on the 1990 model that I tore down, but can not find them on the '96 model. The control box looks...

what's a fair price for a 1.8 block & head? by pws[_1_]
I have a person who wants to buy my 1.8 liter engine with 75K miles. It has been sitting for 2 years. All that he wants is the block and the head. That is cool with me because the intake, valve cover, oil pan, etc. get good money on their own. Any ideas on what a fair price would be for just...

FA: M1 Miata Parts by pws[_1_]
I finally got a few M1 miata parts up. There will probably be a 1.8 liter valve cover, set of 4 fuel injectors and the 1.8 liter intake manifold up tomorrow as well. http://tinyurl.com/ca9uq Pat

Who wants a 2004 Miata Speed? by pws[_1_]
http://austin.craigslist.org/car/306250597.html Did any of the M2's come with a tilt steering wheel? I thought it was introduced with the NC. If you will note, this "Miata Speed" has special features like interval wipers, a clock, a trip odometer, power brakes, and best of all, this...

Like your Jiffy Lube? by pws[_1_]
This was done just over a year ago. The third failure for this chain store in 3 years, the most consistency I have seen from them on anything. Do you think that they finally got it right this year? The videos are just plain sad. In one part you can see and hear the guy telling his manager, "we...

Looking for Racing Beat sway bar brace installation instructions by pws[_1_]
Before I contact the company, I was wondering if some kind soul could scan and e-mail the installation instructions for the Racing Beat Sway Bar brace for a 1991 Mazda Miata. Mine seem to have vanished. Thanks! Pat
