HELP!!! Cig. Lighter: 9 ohms between POS and GROUND???? by
Thomas G. Marshall
I've been ready to make my changes to my cig. lighter from ignition to
"always on", and I discovered something semi disturbing before I made the
changes.
Between the positive and negative terminals of the cigarette lighter (pos is
center, and ground/neg is shell) I'm expecting 0 resistance. ...

It's official. Manual transmissions are making a comeback. by
Gordon McGrew
There are lots of great statistics at the Government CAFE web site.
Lots of compiled data on cars going back to 1977 (and some even
older.) One interesting trend tracked is the percentage of
automobiles with automatic transmissions.
In 1977, 84.1% of all new cars had AT. Under pressure of...

Civic lug studs by
[email protected]
143,000 miles on my 2003 Civic.
Time to replace the original front brake pads.
Unfortunately, the gorillas that put tires on at 140,000 seem to have
ruined one of my lug studs. I think they torqued the wheel into place,
tightening one lug, and then overstressed it tightening the others. ...

Can an older Hybrid run without its battery after it dies? by
K. E. Loyd
I have a long term Civic Hybrid question in case I buy one and drive the
wheels off of it -
Maintenance you would do on a 3 year old car is a bit more extensive than
what is worth the trouble when it is 10 years old with 150k miles.
Suppose, on a Civic Hybrid with 150k miles, you want to NOT...

reset SRS light on a 2000 Accord by
';'%?PF ;/l.
How do I reset my SRS light on a my 2000 Accord?
My manual says there should be an SRS connector, but I have not found
it. Does the 2000 Accord have one?
I found a service connector locator for Hondas at:
http://www.alflash.narod.ru/OBDII/Hondaloc.pdf
but no SRS is listed for 2000 Accord. They...

Honda V6 engines and synthetic oil by
[email protected]
I plan on buying a new 2008 Accord coupe V6 to replace my aging 97
VTEC-4 Accord coupe. I am considering for this new car to maintain it
using synthetic oil and strictly use Honda stock oil filters. My 97
Accord with the 2.2l VTEC four is doing fine at 210K with Jiffy lube
quality oil and filters...

Rear-Ended; New Bumper? by
Elle[_4_]
93 Civic DX sedan. It was a collision hard enough that the drawer
beneath the radio opened and sent the coin change I keep there flying.
As I got out, I thought I would find the Civic's rear would be partly
flattened. I was amazed that externally, the bumper only showed
scratches. The exhaust...

Brake servicing FAQ page update... by
Tegger
I have a (possible) confession to make. It's lengthy, but please read
it.
I have heretofore been advocating the use of copious quantities of anti-
seize in certain locations during brake servicing in order to prevent
corrosion and seizure of various parts.
Since the government banned asbestos...

Ignore Check Engine light at your peril!! by
Tegger[_3_]
When people had reported the Check Engine light (MIL) on with an EVAP code
(P045x; P145x), I had been advising people to avoid the hassle and expense
of getting it fixed, if they didn't have a smog check to pass.
This is a potentially /expensive/ mistake.
My attention has been called to TSB...

outrage over cost of replacing timing belt by
MJ
I was just informed by my dealer that the timing belt on my 2002
Odyssey will need replacement. The car has 109,000 miles on it. They
quoted me a price of $7,800!!!! This is a dealer in Dedham, MA. This is
absolutely outrageous in my opinion and a total ripoff. I have two
Honda's and don't think...

2001 Accord Coupe Rear Rotor Replacement by

Hi all,
I just took my 2001 Accord Coupe EX-V6 in for rear brake pad
replacement. The dealer told me that my rear rotors need to be replaced
as well - I only have ~58,000KM (or about 35K miles). I find it a bit
surprising that I need ot replace my rotors so quickly.
The car is driven every other...
