Recalls and Used-car dealer responsibility? by
Percival P. Cassidy[_2_]
This is in the USA.
A family member recently bought a used Toyota, and I asked whether she
had received a recall notice relating to the Takata airbag problem. She
said she had not, but when I plugged their VIN into the NHTSA Web site
it showed that there was a not-done recall for that vehicle...

Coffee Stains and Smell by
J.B. Wood[_2_]
Hello, all. My question could just as easily be applied in the home but
it happened in my car: What's the preferred way to get out the stain
and eliminate the smell of spilled coffee on car carpeting? Thanks for
your time and comment. Sincerely,

Henning Schröder
I'm on Tire Rack and need to make a choice to help a friend.
What's the *practical* difference of 10mm wider tread?
1. This SUV is a dozen years old & has never been off road
2. This SUV is used like a car & never carries a heavy load
3. What matters to the owner is economy & safety

Water leak by
[email protected]
I noticed my radiator low and water under the car. I took the 1996
Mustang GT to the shop and they pressure checked it and did not find a
leak.
I am still getting water under the car and low radiator fluid. I now
have noticed a loud sound that I can stop by turning off the AC.
I suspect that it...

The physics behind worn tires and braking distance by
DaveC[_3_]
It’s a fact that braking distance increases inversely with tread depth.
Why?
The tread compound is apparently constant from new rubber to wear strips so
it’s not due to harder or “stickier” compound deeper in the tire tread.
What’s the reason?
Thanks.
