Grow lotus plants from seed purchased at your local dried flower store. by harry
Greetings. This worked for me about 10 years ago when I had ponds... I have since moved and not had a pond since the late 90's. At your local florist or craft store that carries dried flower arrangements look for the large seed pods of lotus plants with the seeds still in the pods. These will...

Turtle In My Pond by Roy Lasris
A turtle (don't know which kind) has taken up residence in my pond along with my koi and comets. The new babies survived its presence, so it doesn't appear to be eating anything other than my lilies and lettuce. Any reason not to keep it and enjoy it? Could it be harmful? Thanks, Roy

Connecting PVC to plastic tubing by Dave
I have a statue that is piped with PVC. The PVC is 1/2" inside diameter and an outside diameter of 5/8". What is the best way to connect the PVC to plastic tubing? Is there a special connector required?

Raccoon problem by Scott M.
I have just put in a beautiful Koi/goldfish pond and I'm sure that I have lost several fish to a raccoon. Would a motion sensor that activates a couple of spotlights scare them off or at least make it too hard to see into the water because of glare or is there a better way. Thank you, Scott

New Pond by 2pods
Well, it nearly killed me, but I now have a raised pond. (apart from the disaster with the liner when the rocks holding the liner fell in and holed it doh !) It's rectangular, made from sleepers which are lined them 'cos they were full of creosote. However, we're about to top it off with some...

tadpoles by styxx374
Do tadpoles harm goldfish or just annoy them? We have an abundance of tadpoles this year and they keep clinging to everything - plants, fish food, bugs, EVERYTHING. I've had three brand new fish die in the week that I've had them. I don't know if it's the tadpoles or something else at this point.

Raised pond with flexible liner ? by 2pods
I'm a complete novice, so I'm looking for some help I saw a nice idea for the patio with a rigid liner surrounded by earth/sand, then sleepers built round it. However, I wanted our small rigid pond for somewhere else (maybe semi-raised, as I can't dig much due to illness). Could the raised...

New city pond, small garden by Rob
I'm about to build a small pond and waterfall. The waterfall will begin about 15 feet from the pond, with about a 4' height above the pond surface. The pond will be approximately 6' x 3' x 2'deep (all just theory now; please advise). I could have 2 smaller ponds connected by a "canal" or deep...

Anyone who can help, please contact me asap. I have a large (12-14") Koi, about 3 years old, that has what appears to be Algae (the long variety, as opposed to slimy film type) down both sides of the fish, towards the ventral (underbelly). The left eye also appears to be clouded, although not...
