gas prices too high or too low? by
ben
Don't know know if the question has been asked before, but humor me
for a bit and share your thoughts on gas prices and if ya think
driving an SUV is unpatriotic? In my own mind its a complicated
question that can effect US national security (the part where we in
the USA are dependent upon foreign...

Detroit rear, or lockright F&B by
Greg
If you had a choice, would you go with the detroit locker in rear only, or
go with lockright front and back. Given that 2 lockrights are about $150.00
Canadian less then the detroit. I'm changing gears, so now is the time to do
something, so the install cost of the detroit wont come into it....

Part time engine knock by
The Ancient One
Hi Group,
I have a 1991 GMC K-2500 with the 350 CID engine {5.7 Liter}, 217,000
miles, runs great, doesn't use oil.
It developed a water leak and the garage replaced the intake gasket.
When I picked it up the oil pressure was very low, about 15 highway, 0 at
idle. I assumed they had loosened a wire...

What's the best stock 4x4 system for snow? by
Christopher Grenness
I'm looking for a 4x4 car that will excel in snowy conditions.
I've had a '91 Jeep Cherokee, a '97 Jeep Wrangler Sport and a '01 Land
Rover Discovery II.
All of them were equipped with stock 4x4 systems, and none of them
impressed me when it came to deep snow capabilities (not so deep that
they...

CJ8 front springs & stabilizer bar removal by
Michael Pomeroy
Got the replacement rear springs on. Not without incident and I'll report
later when project is completed.
Now the front -- old spring is off and new spring is in place.
But I cannot remove the top connecting link pin holding the connecting link
to the stabilizer bar!
The instructions that came...

Jingling sound from leaf spring shackle by
dcbryan
My 98 Z-71 has this annoying sound like washers on a bolt everytime I go
over the railroad tracks or any bump of substance. Last weekend while
changing the oil, I started looking at my suspension at the rear passenger
side since that seems to be where the sound is coming from. I noticed that
the...

Opinions wanted Landcruiser vs. 4runner by
clangq
I'm planning to buy a used SUV in the very near future. I'd narrowed
it down to an early 90's 4runner. When looking around, though, I
noticed one or 2 1990 Landcruisers in the same price range. Looking
for some experienced opinions on which would better suit my needs.
This rig will be used as a...

CR-V rear wheel/axle noise? by
Melinda
Happy 4th everyone.
I'm in the market for a used CR-V. To date, I've test-driven two, both
5 speed manual transmission. One was a 2000, the other a 2001.
The first, the 2000, that I drove made a loud whirring/humming sound
when the steering was maxed out in a 360 degree turn, in both
directions....

CJ abnormal brake pad wear by
[email protected]
While doing the spring replacement (which is about finished!!) I
noticed the inner pads on the front brakes were about worn out on both
the driver and passenger side.
I don't remember exactly when I replaced them -- but seems like 20,000
miles or so ago. I could be wrong.
The outer pads looked a...

Greetings:
I just bought a 2004 Sequoia, and I was going to move my winch from my
old truck to the Sequoia, but I can't seem to find anyone that sells
winch mounts for the Sequoia.
Anyone know of one, or has anyone tried a mount for a tundra on their
Sequoia?
Thanks
