What grade of shhet steel? by
Paul Farber
I need to put a new floor into my jeep.
There is a local metal shop that has 18 gauge sheet metal. But when he
asked me 'what type' of sheet steel I needed I was at a loss.
What 'type' (I already know the flat type) or 'grade'/'alloy' of sheet steel
do I need for autobody panels?
Dumb...

03' Silverado 4x w/ 255/75R-16's and No Lift? by
RWC
I want to get some ground clearance, but I'm not willing to spend $1800
minimum for a 4" lift. There is no smaller lift. I don't need a big
flotation tire for sand or mud, I just want clearance for rocks on fire
trails.
The tire guys say I can replace my 245/75R-16's (30.7" tall by...

Rear Window Wiper Switch by
ptopig
Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me.
My son "accidently" pushed the knob/switch into the dash of my 2000
Wrangler. It's right there, but I can't get a hold of it to put it
back into place.
How can I get access to it? I'm worried about just randomly
unscrewing dashboard screws.

Tranny problems? Woman, help appreciated by
David J and Lynne J Shepherd
If it didn't move and the brakes didn't lock, this whine noise sounds like
the rear end or trans. At minimum I would pull the trans pan and check for
"stuff" in the screen and pan, this noise and clunk could also be the rear
differental, or even the transfer case. Some one is going to have to...

Lift Kit Measurement Help? by
[email protected]
I'm buying a '90 full size Bronco with a lift kit and 35" tires. I'd like
to find out how much lift has been added, and the place I'm buying it from
can't tell me. I saw on one of the Bronco sites that a minimum of 4" lift
is needed for 35's. Is there a way to take a measurement to find how...

Engine/Trans removal Toyota 4wd by
LarryB
Has anyone pulled the engine and transmission together out of a Toyo
4wd truck or 4runner with a cherry picker?
I've got a 91 Toyota 4wd pickup 22RE engine and 5 speed trans. The
shop manual says to pull them together. The combined length of the
unit looks to be about 4.5 to 5 feet. It might be...

Tracker emissions - Help! by
Mark
My 91' Tracker failed emissions badly today...
As I'm selling it, I've gotta make it pass.
Basically failed on all 3 specs - NOx, CO, and HC...
My first thought is either the o2 sensor, or the cat...since there's
really little else (from my perspective, anyhow) to go wrong on these
engines,...

Samurai Brakes by
enquirer
I am in U.K. and have Spanish Built 1989 Suzuki Samurai Van. I need to
source a used pair of brake callipers as mine keep sticking and I can't
afford £186 for a new pair, or £50 for two new seals. Does anybody know
where I can get a good used pair?
Thanks

what kind of sheet metal to order? by
Paul Farber
what type (alloy?) or number should I order for panel work on a jeep?
Local sheet metal shop asked my what kind of steel I needed. 'Autobody' was
not an option.
Thanks

Suzuki Grand Vitara by
Paul Rooney
Although all the reviews I've read say it's OK off-road, it doesn't
seem to have a locking differential. Is there some other way it
prevents the problem of wheel spinning, or is this just not an issue
with 4 driven wheels?

What transmission will fit-W56 by
LarryB
I am thinking of buying a used transmission for my 1991 Toyota pickup,
22RE engine, 5-speed manual, 4WD.
Does anyone know what year trannys will fit that year. I looked at
www.drivetrain.com and they have a chart showing that years 89-94 4wd
pickup and 4runner would work but I was wondering about...
