Explorer sport track by Xrayjuan
I am planning to get a sport track by march of 2005, probably a one to two year old. Any warnings or anything to lookout for? 2X2 or 4X4?. Mostly city driving with occasional Kayaking trips.

Explorer Paint by Frank Mancuso
I have an '03 Explorer Sport, black, with factory grey running boards. My Ford dealer does not sell replacement paint for the running boards, because, they say, that is is a 'stock' part that comes grey. Has anyone found a gray that matches for touch up? Thanks. Frank in Austin

Air Conditioning question by Gerry
I have a 2001 Explorer Sport. This AM, I was at a stop light and turned the air on to defrost the windows. When I turned it on, the idle speed dropped and the unit started to click on/off couple of seconds. Is this serious?

On my Ford Explorer 2000 EB's dash board, the fuel cap warning light comes on when I start the engine then goes out (just as other warning lights on the dash) BUT, it does not turn on if the fuel cap is NOT capped back on the fuel inlet. During the last week twice I forgot to cap the fuel inlet...

Jim Warman, I am still confused by John Riggs
Jim, or anybody that knows, I tried again today to make sense of the codes coming out of the OBD-1 , but since I have no real idea what it means, all I can do is ask what the series of numbers means. 5395391157157. Now, is it: 53 = Throttle sensor out of range; TP sensor circuit above maximum...

Heat Location Switching problem by Matt Schumacker
I have a 95 XLT that does not have the climate control. I have read about the problems with that unit and the inablility to control the tempature of the heat, but I'm having a different problem. So far this seems to happen after everything has warmed up. I can turn the heat or defroster on and...

Fixed: squealing serp belt by Herb Kauhry
Working under the assumption that the new factory belt I put on was "right", I exhausted all other avenues to stop the squeal it produced. I bought a Kelly/Springfield-branded belt yesterday and compared it to the factory part. It's noticeably smaller (by maybe 1/4 inch when stretched out...

Torque Spec for brake anchor plate-to-steering knuckle bolts ? by sehaare
I've got a 98 4WD 4 door explorer and I'm pulling the front rotors to be resurfaced. I had to remove the 2 bolts for the brake anchor plate to get the rotor off (these are not the same bolts that you have to remove to just replace the pads). I need to know what to torque the bolts to when I put...

Young Mr.Warman, another stumper for you.....Transmission and ABS, alternator by Jim Warman
"Young???" Mr. Warman?? Now I KNOW you're trying to butter me up 8^) I'll have to do some reading on your trans problem..... see if you can find out for sure if you have the A4LD or the 4R55. Do the usual checks, anyway (fluid level, condition, shift linkage) and it might be an idea to...

INFO: Reverse "slipping" on Ford Explorer by Greg
I've had a problem with reverse (automatic trans) on my 1999 Ford Explorer Sport for some time. It would work fine at low throttle but it would act like I was hold the break down if I needed more power (like backing up a hill). I searched the internet and it really sounded like it might be some...

Battery question. by zoti
The battery on my Explorer died a couple of weeks ago. It was 6 years old but showed no signs of illness before it wouldn't crank the engine anymore. So I got a new battery from Pepboys which is supposed to be 650 cold cranking amps. Just to be sure I also took the truck over to AutoZone to...

Has anyone been able to get Ford to replace the poorly designed rear glass hinges and support struts on warrenty yet? I got the recall notice, but all I get are excuses that the parts are not in yet.
