Common exhaust leak? by
Mike
I have a 2001 Neon and noticed the other day that I have a small
exhaust leak just below the tail pipe. I figured it is not much of a
big deal. Now I noticed that two of my co-workers with a 2001 and a
2002 have the very same leak starting in the same spoke.
Neither one, as well as myself, noticed...

98 Dodge Stratus - Leaking Head Gasket, Worth Fixing? by
MP- Philly
I have a 98 Dodge Stratus, with the 2.4 DOHC engine. It has about 73K
miles on it. I've been told by the dealer that my head gasket is
leaking. The estimate for repair is $700 - $1000. Is it worth fixing?
At 73K miles, if I fix this, will there be any other big repairs
waiting in the wings? Or...

John Gregory
My mechanic can't find the leak. Lost 1.5 lbs last Fall just before Winter.
First time use this Summer forced a recheck and recharge; lost 1.5 lbs. That
was three weeks ago. Now it's blowing warm air again.
Q1) Does the entire control panel have to be removed to get to the
evaporator on this...

'01 Stratus heater issues by
[email protected]
Hello,
The heater in my '01 Stratus started acting weird recently, and I'm
clueless about cars so I'm hoping for some advice. It's generally
fine, but lately it's been suddenly spitting out non-heated air when I
stop at red lights or slow down in heavy traffic. Once I get going
again, the heat...

Ignition question involving use of ballast resistor by

1987 Dodge Dakota 3.9L carbed
I recently posted on rec.autos.tech about the problems I was having with
an MSD 5900 Blaster ignition and an MSD 8202 Baster 2 coil. It seems I
could use one or the other with no problem, either the MSD ignition with
the stock coil or the MSD coil with the stock...

Can oil & filters change cause enging fire? by
I.Pavlov
The engine in my 1999 Chrysler Town & Country caught fire
yesterday causing total loss of the vehicle.
What is strange about this incident is that it happened
right after the oil change was done by one of the automotive
shop chains, specializing in quick oil, tire, batteries
and other small car...

Times Have Changed: Cold Starting by
Richard
Has anyone in the north country noticed that on very cold, below zero F
mornings almost every vehicle starts right up. Twenty years ago and back, it
was very typical for many if not most cars to die during the starting
process. Possible reasons:
Near universal use of 5W-30 oils and more common use...

I wouldn't be caught dead driving that car if you paid me.
Nothing Fiat makes would be anything other than a laughing stock in
North America.
You know what I don't get?
Daimler still owns 19% of Chrysler. Daimler has a bunch of small cars.
Why aren't we hearing about any deals to bring THOSE...

I would like to find r12 substitute for my old a/c system.

with no such requirement.
Questions:
Are there really any restrictions on the e-safe stuff?
How do I...
