can overnight idle hurt a car? by
snow
I did a foolish thing yesterday. At 3pm, I turned my minivan on to warm it
up as it had been sitting two days, and it is severe cold here in Maine.
Well, as I go back in the house my wife says I have leaking water pipes
(frozen pipe problem). Well, I then FORGOT that the minivan was on, and I
left...

Volkswagen Lupo Ventilation System by
mrpete2004
I've just recently acquired a Volkswagen Lupo. I'm having problems
with the ventilation fan. Its got four settings numbered 1,2,3,4.
However, the fan only comes on full blast when switched to the no. 4
setting. i.e. nothing seems to happen when I put the setting on 1,2,3.
Is this normal?

Chrysler Fuel pump and battery Questions. by
Mike Romain
Maybe someone here knows the answers to a couple questions a friend of
mine has regarding Chrysler Fuel pumps and his battery.
He has what he thinks is a dead fuel pump in his 94 Voyager.
So he got a used pump and tested it with 12 volts to see it spin up. He
then installed it and it still won't...

1994 Ford F-150 Speed Sensor by
[email protected]
My speedometer/odometer (Electronic Dash) went out and now the
transmission shifts hard. I narrowed it down to the vehicle speed
sensor, but I can't find it. There is a sensor on the rear
differential, but it completely different from the new VSS I have in my
hand. I assume it is an ABS sensor. I...

Hi HC's in '93 Chev. Astro van by
Rayvan
My Van (1993 Astro engine code W 154,000 miles)
is failing California's smog requirement.
Tested the van on rollers under load and found this:
HC's at 15 MPH (1475 RPM):
164 PPM. Allowed: 88 PPM max.
It passes in CO% and it passes for NOx (PPM) with flying colors
and in the 25 MPH test it passes...

Carby Jet Removal by

I have an old car with a low speed jet which is probably damaged (Darwin
award stuff, so I won't go into how it happened). This is the primary barrel
of a twin barrel carby. I am trying to remove the jet and replace it. I can
easily unscrew the cover, but I cannot budge the jet screw. It is made...

I just installed a used head on a 6 cyc. I still have to adjust the valves and

Cleaning fuel injectors question by
Dan Ritter
My engine has been running rough lately. One possibility I thought
could be the injectors. I know it could be a lot of other things. I've
heard that most injector cleaners that you add to the gas aren't all
that good. I started wondering what is in the stuff. I imagine it's
just a solvent...

I have a 93 Grand Prix that the turn signals do not work. The emergency

95 chevy G20 exhaust question.... by
Leroy Stroud
I have a 95 Chevy G20 van....350 TBI....
I wanna run duals on it.....can it be done?
Do I need a crossover pipe for the O2 sensor ?
Better to keep the cat and run 3" pipe straight back?
I'd like headers, true duals....2 1/2" pipe straight back w/hi flow turbo
mufflers or glass packs.....

Ask How To Replace Headlight Bulb, Toyota Corolla 1992? by
GG
I would like to know the following about changing the headlight bulb(s)
on a 1992 Toyota Corolla 4-door sedan:
1. Is it one 12Volt H-4 bulb per headlight?
2. Does one need any special tools besides hands, screwdriver and
pliers to change the bulb?
Thanks.

Adjusting valves cont. by
Rojo2G
So....how forgiving is the adjusting on this engine? My book says to just
adjust on 1/4 turns waiting to adjust again after each 10 sec. interval and
adjust until the clack has stopped? This seems imprecise.
Thanks Rojo
