New center console by
[email protected]
So you want a "nicer" console huh? I had that same thought you did.
It didn't go all the way to the dash that i wanted it to or serve any
purpose but have cup holders. I ripped mine off the floor and
actually created my own. I turned it into a speaker/ center console.
My advise to you is.....if...

Today when I went to raise the driver's side window it would not go up. I

96 Explorer starter problem by
[email protected]
The car intermittently will not crank. I hear a click but no
turnover. It starts fine for a month or so and then I'll go to the
store or work or something, come out a few minutes later (or could be
hours later) and no starting. No crank, no turnover, just click. The
battery has plenty of juice,...

slight rattle on cold start for 2002 Ford Explorer by
[email protected]
Ford Explorer 2002 XLT, 95k km on it.
After a cold start, when accelerating between 20-50km/hr I get an
intermittent rattle coming from underneath the front of the truck...its
fairly quiet but noticeable if you don't have the radio on. After
driving for about 10-15 minutes the rattle goes away,...

Leaving the world of Explorers behind, perhaps... by
John D. Goulden
In a couple of years I'll finally give up on my '91 Explorer (and its
endless litany of problems - see numerous posts in this ng :) and start
shopping for a regular cab, regular bed pickup (which will better suit my
current and future needs than the SUV - if I get another SUV as well my
spouse will...

Question regarding paid off vehicle/lien release by
Justa Dawg
Apologies for being off topic but I thought someone may have run into
this problem I'm currently having. I paid off my Explorer last
February and have yet to receive the lien release or clear title from
Chase Bank. I've made numerous phone calls to them over the last 8
months with no luck. Does...

Mr.Clean
I am getting a seat belt warning light and the ding, ding, ding whenever I
run my 2005 Explorer. This happens at all times, even when someone is in
both seats and both belts are buckled.
It goes off, stops for a little while then comes back ona gain. It completely
stops after about 15...

94 ford explorer drivers door handle, not working! by
[email protected]
Went out this mornning to get into my "exploder", and the drivers side
door isn't working - won't open from inside or out.
My husband is going to hit the roof, as we are in bad financial
straights right now.
Anyone experience this?? I wonder if it can be fixed easily, and
if hubby could do...

Compression Test questions by
Paul Scrutton
Contemplating doing a compression test on my V6 pushrod (1996) Explorer
engine. I've never done one before, so I started reading up about it. The
procedure appears to be:-
1) remove all spark plugs.
2) Block throttle wide open
3) Disconnect primary wires from the coil.
4) Insert gauge and crank 4...

Insturment panel lights by
josh
I was deployed for a year and my 97 Explorer wasn’t driven very much
while I was gone. Now that I’m back the lights behind the insturment
panel and the air conditioner controles don’t turn on. I’ve checked
for damaged wiring or blown fuses and haven’t found any. What else
could it be?

Hey Jim, any words "up your way" on when the TSB for the cruise control will
be fixed. No one down Texas way seems to have any words of wisdom! It was
initially to have been December, then moved to March and now seems to be
unknown....................

Towing- Auto trans vs manual by
[email protected]
I noticed in the specs for the Explorer that when equipped with auto
transmission it can tow a heavier trailer.
For example, a 1998 with 4.0L OHV engine and 3.73 differential can tow
up to a 5160 lb trailer, vs 2700 lbs for the same specs except with a
manual transmission.
Anyone know why that...

96 Explorer Door Handle Problem by
John Ahnen
Recently my daughters 96 Explorer's (XLT) Drivers door handle (outside)
changed... Now, instead of engaging right away, it feels loose and engages
the opening mechanism near the end of it's range of motion.
Hopefully this explanation is not too vague and someone can shed some light
as to the...
