How best to teach my daughter to drive a Miata by
nosfatsug
Well, the time has come and I am now teaching my daughter to drive my Miata.
She quickly picked up the whole concept of a manual transmission and was out
on the open roads after a short practice session in a parking lot. As with
all new drivers to a manual transmission, the most challenging...

Have you seen the Dodge Demon?
The two worst things about it:
1. It's not a Miata
2. It is a Dodge

Experience in colder climates? by
Don Q[_3_]
Just wondering about suitability...
Anyone in a colder climate use yours as an only car?
Weather protection and heater adequate?
Any mechanical gotchas?
Rust?
Thanks.

2000SE miata top FS on miata.net classifieds by
pws
No affiliation, but if it wasn't for the fact that this top is the wrong
color for my car, the window won't fit with my rollbar, and the seller
does not want to ship, I would snatch it up. The seller is in PA.
$425.00 is a great price and this is one of the best modifications you
can do to a...

MSM intake parts replacement by
Hal
All....I'm in a bit of a funk. I want to replace the rubber inlet pipe
on the 04 MSM, and I see two variants available. One, by bell
engineering, looks to be a direct fit if I only want to replace the
intake elbow and nothing else. The other kit by FM comes with a new
bypass valve, and costs more...

1 video is worth 1000 words - SUV rollover by
pws
I remember a situation very similar to this in my Datsun 280Z. I was
forced off the highway onto the median and came back onto the road at a
bad angle, causing me to spin out once the tires hit pavement again.
The difference is that my wheels stayed on the ground, the car didn't
crash, and nobody...

cambelt change by
vat677
1991 MX5 with short-nosed crankshaft, 90,000 miles so cambelt should really be changed. Have put off doing it so far, wary of tales of problems with the nut retaining the cambelt sprocket to the crankshaft. However, have read recently that it is possible to change the belt on these early models...

M2 top/leaking help!!! by
josh
OK I've about had it!!
I have a 2000 Miata and any time there is a hard rain overnight, I get in
the car in the morning to find a gallon or more water standing in the
driver's side footwell. Some have suggested cleaning the "drains" but I
can't figure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing with...

Thinking about a hardtop. by
Dave Smith
I'm thinking about getting a hardtop for my '97 and I'm interested in
hearing from those who have them.
How's the interior noise at speed compared to with a softtop?
How much hassle removing/replacing it?
Are they fragile? Heavy?
Any change in the car's handling due to aerodynamics, rigidity,...

Mazdaspeed MX-5 NC? by
Chris D'Agnolo
I just had a brilliant idea (you won't argue with this one Pat)! Fit the
same hot-rod engine from the Mazdaspeed 3 / 6 into the new NC! Why the heck
not? The bar has been raised that high by none other than GM! Mazda must
respond!
The brilliant part is, the same old benefit of parts sharing....

SPEEDO CABLE LUBE by
Chris D'Agnolo
I've got some nasty whiring sound that appears to be coming from the dash
area. It comes and goes a bit but varies with speed not engine speed which
leads me to believe it's the speedo.
My question is, what's the chances of ridding myself of this menace? Does
the cable disconnect at the back of...

overheating at speed by
[email protected]
I have a 97 1.8 standard mx5. Today was hot in the UK (probably about
85F). On a long motorway journey the temperature gauge was creeping up.
This was at a steady 75-80mph. Slowing to 65mph lead to the temperature
returning to normal. Coolant levels normal.
What's the most likely cause of this? My...
