chrome plating? by
Nate Nagel
anyone got any good recommends for a chrome plating service? I have
some very rare pieces in poor condition that simply have to be repaired
and replated. (if you really must know they're the quarter beltline
pieces for a '64 Stude convertible, of which there were only a couple
hundred made. I...

Brake experts? by
G.R. Patterson III
This summer, I finished a rebuild job of the brakes on my '40 Ford. I replaced the
shoes, drums, lines, and hoses. I rebuilt the wheel cylinders and the master. I put
in silicon brake fluid. Then I started trying to get pressure.
The first step was to get fluid through the lines. I had my stepson...

Operation of vacuum heat riser? by
Halterb
Regarding 1976 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, 500 CI carbureted engine.
I wonder if my assumption that the vacuum unit should be airtight is correct. I
note that the rear choke pull-off vacuum unit has a built in bleeder which has
to be covered up when doing adjustments in order to keep the...

where to find strip gaskets, L shaped? by
Michael
I am looking for L shaped strip gaskent, hopefully out of hard rubber or
something abrasive resistant. Ideally it will be 5/8 inch or more on
the legs and about 1/4 inch thick.
I need it various places in the trunk, around the battery holder, and
tube pass throughs. I do not think foam gaskets,...

Frank Grimey Grimes
How do the horn rings for a 1957 cadillac and 1959 cadillac remove from
the steering wheel?
There not like the Ford horn rings of that era where you press down and
turn. Nor are there any screws that hold the horn ring on from the
back. What would I have to do to successfuly remove these horn...

No. They were optional equipment on most makes of autos in the U.S.

Ford was about the cheapest car available, hence they were very popular.
