Gravity dripper (IV drip) by
Bill Stock
I decided to try the IV drip method for fertilizing my plant tank, after
reading about it here. So I headed off to my favourite junk (surplus) store
to see what they had in medical supplies. I found a FLU VEN 0160 for $2.95
CND, which is rated at 20 drops per ml. I was hoping for 60 drops per...

Tumor? by
JL
Today I noticed a knot that has formed on my headlight taillight tetra.
It's about the size of a baby pea and is located slightly above and to the
rear of his right eye. It is dark in color, but the gills already have a
dark color to them. I can see a slight white coloring in the middle of...

Drip irrigation parts? by
Bill Stock
I'm looking for some info on drip irrigation parts. I'll be setting up a
continuous water change system down the road (tank needs moved first), so
I'm doing a bit of research. I've seen that some people use a pressure
regulator valve and others use a "drip irrigation controller". I gather the
drip...

Aquarium drain and fill by
Jimmie
After 4 years I finally got tired of hauling water to and from my aquariums
in buckets and went down to local pet store to buy one of those fill/drain
kits that hooks up to the kitchen faucet. $72.00 USD is what they wanted for
this thing. Couldnt believe it. Stppped by the local water bed place...

Hello
I have got an orando that looks healthy. but when it is swimming and it
stops. It floats to the top of the tank. I have been told this is a swim

Alternative Heat For Tank (experiment) by
pausto
I've been thinking about an alternative to electric resistance heat
for
my tank, in case of extended power loss or whatever. I'm thinking of
using heat from my gas water heater, or perhaps a small alcohol stove.
Today I played with a heat exchanger. Hope my notes aren't too
confusing.
Any input,...

Mechanical Timer Warning by
2pods
I've used a mechanical timer on my tank lights since I've had it.
In preparation for my new tank arriving, I went to Homebase to pick up a
pack.
However, all the mechanical, and most of the digital timers had warnings on
them saying not to be used with fluorescent lights.
Why ?
Or do they mean the...
