Inches of fish/gallon guidlines = NONSENSE! by
Don
I have frequently run across guidelines for the number of fish that
can thrive in a given size aquarium expressed in inches of fish per
gallon. I trust the following assumptions are reasonable:
*Oxygen consumed and waste produced are roughly equivalent to body
mass
*Oxygen consumption and waste...

Aqua Clear Pro 75 with set up by
pctwst
Hello all,
I just bought a 125 gallon tank. It came with an Aqua clear pro 75,
with skimmer, overflow, basically the whole nine yards. Does anybody
have a link on how to set this thing up? The original owner does not
have the manual. I do realize that it is not big enough for the 125 and
I will be...

P. Salad
I posted this in alt.aquaria...but thought I'd try here since they were
threatening physical violence against one-another...
6.6 Gallon fresh water tank, small power filter, small air stone,
couple fake plants, and a cool castle. Everything including the tank
and gravel was rinsed thoroughly...

Filter pump height? by
Dave Smith
I have a 50 gallon tank and am using a Fluval404 canister filter to
filter and circulate the water through a reverse undergravel setup. I
have the Fluval mounted in the cabinet that the tank sits on, so the
rotor for the pump is about three feet below the surface of the water.
I've always thought...

DIY lighting and undergravel heating by

Hi,
Having been much inspired by Takashi Amano's beautiful aquascapes, I'm
planning to set up a fully planted tank,. I've pretty much given up
trying to find a full aquarium kit with most of what I need I have
decided to put it all together myself. I'm going for a 2ft glass tank
(60 litres),...

55 gallon tank question by
Mike
I have a 55 gallon tank that is about 22 years old and hasn't been used for
the last 12 years or so. It has been in storage in a damp moldy basement.
Is it worth trying to clean it up and use or is it likely to leak?
Thanks,
Mike

Shark by
K.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a small leopard shark? I mean
around a foot in length. It seems the
liberal state of CA passed a law that they can't be sold for aquaria
unless they are over three feet in length.
As if their populations are in danger considering they are not
commerically...

Aquarium Ich by

I have a blog with a treatment for aquarium ich and fungus that I use
on my aquarium maintenance route. It works great, especially when
cannot be there to add additional treatments. I DO NOT recommend over
using this as with any treatment or preventative.

female betta egg question by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have a female betta and she is producing eggs without there being a
male around. I have no
intention of breeding so I don't plan on getting a male. A few weeks
ago she was eating the eggs. I
don't see any floating around anymore, but there seems to be some still
in her. I am wondering if...
