ignition hard to turn by
Tim R
It's an older Chevy. Occasionally the key didn't want to turn, but enough jiggling and I could get it to start.
Now it's every time, and I'm never sure I'll get it.
Would spraying lubricant into the keyhole help, or make it worse?

muffler by
[email protected]
I wanted to be a cheapskate, and other things, and get my old muffler welded, but when I took it off I found a 3/4" hole on top where the retainer strap held it. Is this some kind of be-metallic effect? I want a new one now (autozone $32.99), so when I install it should I put a fiber glass pad up...

NAPA vs. Autozone vs. O'Reilly... price and quality? by
phaeton
Using online catalogues, i've priced out the parts to rebuild the
front end on my truck. (In-store pricing might be slightly different)
This will mean 2 upper control arm assys, 2 lower ball joints, control
arm bushings all around, and inner and outer tie rod ends for both
sides.
At NAPA, it's...

what lateral g-force can old cars achieve? by
[email protected]
A modern vanilla sedan can do 0.9 g, maybe more with good tyres.
I saw a video on Youtube of some guy fitting a triangulated 4-link suspension
to some chrome-bumper car, and managed to get 0.52 g on cornering,
which seems rather poor. Must have had **** tyres. Sorry, I haven't been
able to find it...

Emissions test failure - no OBDII communication by
Mark[_27_]
I have a '97 Lexus ES300 (131K miles). My Connecticut Emissions test
failed today due to no OBDII communication. The guy said he couldn't
get a reading. He suggested it could be as simple as a blown fuse or
as complex as the computer itself.
I did some search on google and various forums. It was...
