Electrical system Failure by
Mike
I am repairing a 1987 Plymouth Gran Fury, and the electrical system seems
dead. I know the battery is shot since I tested it with a battery charger. I
am using the battery charger both on the 10 amp recharge and the startup
settings. I have replaced the distributor cap, the rotor, the 8 spark...

will this work w/out "activating"? by
sdlomi2
I'm looking to buy an AM-FM-CD from a '95 Chevy Trailblazer. If it
bolts right into my GM car--different year, but identical wiring harness and
all brackets--will it play without having to enter some kind of code? The
unit DOES have the anti-theft option. And to the seller's knowledge,...

Are portable air compressors sufficient for automotive air tools? by
Ryan Underwood
I would like to buy a nice 25gal compressor, but I can't right now. I'm
wondering if a typical "portable" 5gal compressor is sufficient to run
an air ratchet, wrench, hammer, etc for automotive work. I'm not
concerned with overusing it to cause it to wear out sooner, because
eventually I will buy...

1995 Lunina Van Suspected gas tank/fuel pump problem by
Bill Shurben
I had a mysterious stalling problem with a Plymouth Sundance . After a
couple of years and many parts replacement I found that the rubber grommet
in the gas tank was disintegrating and the small particles of rubber were
clogging up the filter in the fuel pump. Has this problem been seen in...

I'll be darned by

I posted a few days ago about a transaxle problem. Shifting and loss of
fluid. I thought the loss of fluid was the pan gasket problem, even with
the new gasket, still had drips. I posted on another site about the fluid
drips.
The person told me to check the vacuum modulator, sometimes it goes...

apparent reason, the car runs great,no vibration of any kind, no
skipping or cutting out.The car runs perfect except it's making a

damaged door and lock by
I love Edsels
recently some A-hole pried the lock on the door of my 97 Ranger and
stole the stereo head unit. So, I have some questions: 1- what can be
done to fix it and make it harder to pry in future? 2- can a HU be
installed as a pull-out even though that is not widely availabe now?
TIA
Tom

Brighter signals for daytime (paging Daniel Stern...) by
Ad absurdum per aspera
It's another scaldingly bright day here in the Southwestern desert, and
sometimes the few people who use their turn signals get their message
lost in the glare and through-shine and retroreflection (not to mention
window tint and sunglasses).
So... Given all the electronic sophistication, ranging...

2002 Subaru Legacy
I have 2 tires that are very bad because I should have rotated them

Dose this sound right to you?
Thanks

Problem with the air flow sensor by
Ulf
I've finally figured out what the problem is with my newly bought '92
BMW 535. The air flow sensor is messed up. I removed it and measured the
resistance while opening the vane and it wasn't linear at all. Closed it
was 680 ohm, opened a little about 1100, almost fully open 110, and
completely open...

Replacing Struts, a few questions, problems by
[email protected]
I decided to replace the struts on my 96 Nissan Pathfinder, and have
ran into a few issues. First, I got the old strut out, now I am having
problems putting the new on in. On compresing the spring, do I need to
really compress it a lot? Should I attach the top of the strut before
the bottom? Also...

More research please for a term paper by
roofy
Hi there all,
A few years ago, I went to a car show where there was an owner who made
a 1919 kit car. What really fascinated me was how the fuel was fed into
the engine. The owner had mentioned that it was required that the fuel
tank be positioned near and above the engine becuase there was no...

96-97 Volvo 850 Reset Service Light Info by
Joe S
In researching this topic, I found that there had been some discussion
on this some years ago, with the least expensive solution being a $300
scan tool that was later going for $179.
I found a posting that indicates a scan tool for $40 available from
Harbor Freight that apparently does the job....
