to filter or not? by DNT
My pond is 24" deep and holds about 250-300 gal. and has 6 goldfish in it. I live in zone 5 and we get freezes but not usually sustained for too long. I cleaned it and removed leaves, trimmed plants, etc. in Nov. I stopped feeding the fish in mid-November. The pond surface has partially frozen...

New Pond pictures by news group
New pictures from this summer and fall (2005) on page 8. Unfortunately, I have exceeded the allowable 22 MB and will have to "edit" (remove the larger versions) the pictures soon. Unless of course I move them to MSN or Yahoo or some place. Enjoy... W. Dale

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL THE PONDERS by Bette In Ohio
It's frigid here in Central OH right now, (in the single digits at night and low 20's during the day-- but the bubblers and my small low-watt heater, seem to be doing their job. I wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season and hope your ponds bring you great joy during the coming year. Bette in Ohio

Well, the herons found my pond... by Dan
I've been pretty lucky with my new pond this year and lost no fish to critters (at least none that I know of). Well, that may have changed. I looked out tonight and saw a great blue heron standing in the middle of the pond by the waterfall. The pond is only half frozen now since the days have...

Pl*cos and tank cleaning by ~ jan jjspond
As reported here, pl*cos can be bad in tanks with goldfish. Because they are nocturnal they cause the goldfish stress at night, and once they've cleaned the sides of a tank they may decide goldfish slime coat taste yummy. For the last year or so I've been scrubbing glass to protect my goldfish for...

Relocating fish from a pond by The Space Boss
Hello there, I'm wondering how you would go about relocating fish from a pond that is being removed or replaced? Is there anybody you could call who would help you strain them out and relocate them to a new home? And how would you go about it? I imagine you would drain the pond within a few inches...
